Looking For Target Rifle Recommendations

I get this is apparently a touch subject, I had no intention of this thread turning into a discussion of the origins of the AR 15/10 - M16 etc... Just meant to the OP that the AR platform is a universal platform that has several uses andd calibers available, with little effort to switch between them.

I have a Ar15 with a 5.56 upper assy, and also a .458 upper assy, and they interchange just as they would normally with the lower reciever. So as I mentioned this is a great option for the Op as it has the 5.56 barrel chamber with capability for the larger pressures, as well as the ability to chamber the lower pressure .223.

on the plus side, was the ability to swap an upper to a .458 or even a 300 BLO. thats 4 calibers covered by the same lower reciever and trigger group.

Thanks guys. I`m kind of focusing in on the 93 R GV 17HMR. Reviews seem to indicate that it`s a good shooter at a good price. Just looking for a 100 yard range rifle to have some fun with. If it`s a little more capable than that, more the better. I`ll be using my Savage Storm 110 .223 for any varmint hunting I might do.

I'm sure you will be happy with the 93R GV in 17HMR. I know I am very happy with it's baby brother, the 17m2 in my MkII GVL. The 17HR will be pretty fast shooting out to 150 yards. And pushing that 17/20 grain bullet past 100 yards will be fun and teach you a lot of reading the wind.

when the atmospheric condition are right I can see the vapor trail of the bullet arching in my scope at 200 or greater yards with the 17hmr

The 17m2 and 17HMR are both fun little rounds to push to their limits. And they are also good hunting rounds within their respected limits.
