Looking to get my wife into "Sporting Tac-ti-cool" Rifle. Suggestions?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, just pointing out the obvious.

If she wants a gun buy her one (or let her buy her own.) If she doesn't, don't waste the energy and money, and buy yourself a gun instead.

If you're looking to buy her something, make it something she wants, not something you want.

Get an upper in .204 ruger, much more useful than any of the pistol calibers (and yes I have a 9mm also) or the 5.7. With a 20-24" tube you can play wack-a-mole way out there with very little recoil.

Does it have to be tacti-cool

My wife loves shooting my Remington heavy barreled .223. The added weight makes for no recoil and she gets a kick out of the accuracy. Unless she just likes to blast away she might enjoy the challenge and it works great for rodent targets.

What I think may be a little amusing my own 'we wife' if 5"2' and about 97 pounds dripping wet,she has no problem firing a .223 or even up to any larger caliber...Interesting enough,she went and bought what was 'comfortable' for her and we even have separate 'gun safes' (her is now much more full than mine).

She chose a few pistols and rifles that I myself wouldnt have bought,but it works for her...thats what I wanted,her to make her own decisions,to use what 'works' for her.

It's probably not the recoil. It's probably the 4-position buttstock. Get her a fixed shorty buttstock and paint the rifle pink. Even better, put kitties or something girly on it. She'll like it, be proud of it (ridiculously so) and shoot the fire out of it.

Never forget she's a girl. Girls like pretty things. Black rifles ain't pretty. Get her a pretty gun.

How do I know this? My wife and daughter have pretty guns and both are deadly with them.

Get her an M1. I have one and like it and since all women are the same anyway, its inevitable that she'll like it. Maybe you can put kitty stickers on it.

My wife hadn't touched a gun since her father had her shoot his magnum elk rifle (far too much recoil for such a tender age). Finally convinced her to shoot one of my PS90's and thanks to the nearly non-existent recoil she's happy to go plinking at the range and enjoys knocking over bowling pins.
