Unfortunately, once pancreatic cancer is diagnosed because of symptoms, it's almost always too late. Most people who recover from it did so because the tumor(s) was(were) found very early during some unrelated procedure. I those cases, a conscientious surgeon who takes a look around for anything unusual before closing following a surgery is the difference between saving a life and finding it later when it's too late.

I also find Paul Harrell’s videos to be watchable and educational on several levels. He always seemed like he enjoys sharing his gun knowledge without coming across as an inflexible know-it-all.
I am sorry to hear that he is ill, may he fight on and come back to you tube soon!

My favorite thing about Paul is how humble and human he is. So many of the gun tubers are tattoos and tacticool and if your not carrying two extra mags and blah blah blah. Paul is none of those things. He also does not frame every video around how far away the police are when you need them or how to survive getting mugged at a gas station. For example, he had a video title somethign like 'is all range ammo alike'. He took 10 different boxes of 9mm and chronographed them. 30 minutes of chronographing ball ammo. Did it for several others.
I will always appreciate his opinion on what he calls 'hyper ammo' not to be confused with lightweight boutique ammo. And he proves his point on hyper ammo every chance he gets.

Paul isn't one of the regular content creators that I watch, but he's an old school shooter with some good experience and wisdom.
And he's a complete character on top of that.
Pancreatic cancer is a terrible thing to deal with; I watched it take one of my early shooting mentors. Paul certainly has my sympathy and condolences.

I agree with all of this. I absolutely love his recreation of the Miami-Dade 1986 FBI shooting, it's a must see. He put so much effort toward demonstrating and letting you decide for yourself through his visual demos. He never told people what to do, but only his humble opinion on his topic.
His story of him and his buddies being shot at by the shooter with the .22LR from long range left me puzzled (puzzled that Harrell didn't Chuck Norris/Rambo his ass.....) I'll bet he did, just left that part out.
There's so much of his content I haven't seen yet, but I'll make sure to treat myself on occasion to an episode and I should be able to enjoy his content for many more years to come.

One very interesting and entertaining man. It's a blow to the community for sure. I enjoy listening to people drone on and on as long as it's a subject that interests me and he certainly did that. I loved his Thanksgiving specials and thought it was a kind gesture for those who may be away or without family to keep folks entertained.
On a side note, I have watched and enjoyed many of his videos over the years and I've yet to ever notice his speech impediment that he brings up in almost every other video.

He used to call that his "Shatner-esque" delivery. Poking a little fun at actor William Shatner's sometimes hesitant and paused speaking.

When he announced his condition he said that he had an ex that was prone to spreading false information about him, that's why he announced it on You Tube like he did (see below). I don't see anything on his YT channel and I'm sure he'd have Roy put something or he may have already filmed a goodbye vid. That site seems pretty short on details. I'm not buying it.

That’s why I didn’t start a new thread. I too checked out his channel and no announcement, or tribute. So for now, this is suspect.

Legally Armed America, on YT, made a video 1-2 days ago titled Paul harrell had pssed away or something like that, and, within an hour, made the video private. I'm waiting for something on Harrell's channel, but it seems to be inevitable. Only a matter of time.

All the pop ups that disable the browser’s back button were my first clue.
Ok, makes sense. I use Brave, or Duck Duck and pop-ups are suppressed.

When Googling it, I also found an article from only 2 days ago saying the rumor was false and that spammers had created a link.
I don't know if he's crossed over at this time or not. Regardless, it seems to be a matter of when, not if.
It's a shame. He's one of the good ones. One of the few good ones left. The firearms/2A community will be much worse without him around.

At this point, I don't know why anyone uses any browser other than Brave. It's easily the best.
