What 9mm do you think has the least felt recoil? Please only respond if you have shot numerous models.

Thanks!

The heaviest ones... i.e.: Made of steel.

The BHP, and the S&W 5906, etc.

The Marlin Camp 9 carbine has basically zero "felt recoil", for instance...

Full-size 5" 1911's in 9mm are pretty tame. Same with the CZ SP-01 in all steel (the Shadow). Or the S&W long-slide 952 (I haven't shot the long slide, but the regular 952 was a pussycat). Look for the biggest possible chunk of steel that puts the crotch of your thumb as close as possible to the bore axis, and viola: low recoil.

1911's are easy to get along with. Not Glock thats for sure!

If 9's scare you can give me back your .375! it must be a nightmare. :neener:

Well, yes; but we're in the handguns subforum, so let's not obfuscate.

...well... he did ask about "lowest felt-recoil", and the point is that it's all physics. I have shot some small ploymer frame 9's that I thought were a pain, and I'm generally not a "recoil-sensitive" guy,

Yes. The last 2 glock's I shot had a lot of 'lift and twist' in the hand.

I shoot many .45's sizes, weights, and none of them move in my hand like the glock.

Sorry, their well made and reliable just not for me.

CZ-75B, Browning Hi Power, HK P7M8 or PSP. Yes the P7's gas retard system, steel construction (heavy) and low bore axis really helps felt recoil.

Browning High Power. Shot many Glocks, 1911s, CZs, older S&W 9mm revolver (cool), Lugers, Broomhandles, etc. A close second it the heavy CZ75.

I think a 9mm 1911 by far has the least recoil.

CZ 75's are real nice and soft, better than the High Power IMO.

Sig P226 isn't bad, even with the alloy frame.

I like Glocks, but felt recoil isn't low.

As far as the Marlin camp carbine, I disagree, I think it has more recoil than expected because of the plain blow back action. A M1 carbine is much lower by comparison.

I was shooting my Camp 9 yesterday with hot handloads and the recoil felt like more than I was getting from my Glock 17L.

The Ruger PC-9 carbine was worse, it has a very heavy bolt, and felt recoil is very high for a 9mm.

I'll throw in the Grand Power K100 Mk6 (now marketed by STI).

It's got a rotating barrel system so it torques more than recoils.

Love mine and novice shooters like shooting it also.

i find it pretty amusing how many folks have mentioned the Browning Hi-Power (P35) as my experience (i've owned 3) has been that it has more disturbing recoil than every 9mm i've owned besides the Glock 19/17/26 (i've owned 4)

if you're also going to factor in accuracy and reliability i'd say the least recoiling 9mm i've shot would be the Sig 226ST...the all stainless construction really makes the 9mm a pussycat.

i'd think the Sig X-Five would be very low too, but i've only shot the .40 chambering...but that felt like a light 9mm
