Lowest recoil in 9mm

Para Ordnance 18.9 Ltd - Plenty of weight - double stack widebody grip- you feel very little. Next is 9mm in a 1911 gov't model. Plenty of weight- you feel very little. CZ 75B SA- The Single action 75B has a heavy slide - minimal recoil or flip.

Regards,

:) :) :)

Of all the 9mm's I fired, my Star Model 30, at 40 ounces, with a 5 inch barrel, all steel, has the lowest felt recoil. The heavier the gun, the less recoil. Buy the way, an all steel gun will probally last 50,000 rounds, or a couple life times of steady use.

My Government 1911 9mm and my BHP both have little recoil and muzzle flip. Any steel 9mm should have little recoil particulary with standard pressure laods.

I am a 9mm junky so I have shot quite a few of them. From what I can tell, the Ruger P-89 had the least. The Beretta 92fs and Ruger P-95 don't have much recoil either. I had a FM Hi Power with a Detective slide that kicked more than any 9mm I can think of. It kicked more than my Kahr K-9 that is about half the size and weight. :what:

I can't say that any full sized 9mm is going to have much recoil. Glocks tend to soak up recoil very well but I have not shot one in 9mm yet.

Sig 210 by far.

The slide is quite heavy and the frame is not very light either. Also the bore axis is pretty low. With mild target loads you have to wonder if the case is going to eject out. This is especially true with the 210-5 heavy frame over the 210-6 light frame.

My P226 Sport Stock is the softest shooting 9mm I have....softer shooting than my P210-6 heavy frame (my opinion only of course). My S&W 952-2 iand CZ Champion (compensated) are also soft shooting 9mms.

Bottom line - perceived recoil is primarily the combination of:
1. muzzle weight / material (weight block, longer barrel, stainless vs. steel, etc.)
2. frame material and length (again, with the CG centered closer the muzzle)
3. recoil springs
4. ammo power

Lowest PR I've experienced is with a Sig P210 extended barrel, followed by Sig P226 Sport with the weight block, followed by a Sig P226 ST, all with after-market recoil springs and with 115gr ball.

The 41 ounce S&W Performance Center 952 is a very soft shooter with standard pressure 9mm. Great gun and very accurate with a sweet single action trigger.
