Just curious you guys. Among all the 9mm autos you've shot which has the lowest felt recoil and/or muzzle flip?

My experience with pistols is fairly standard, by no means great. But between Beretta 92, CZ-75 (I think it was a 75; a full size CZ model in 9mm that I borrowed at the range), Glock 17 & 19, and HK USP 9, I would go with the HK for lowest perceived recoil. YMMV.

Usp 9mm has about none and glock 17 i shot was pretty low..

i had oppsite experance with beretta 92 i thought recoil muzzle flip was excessive maybe it was becuse it was range gun but my subcompact xd 9 i was shooting same day with same ammo was recoiling less..

im sure it was the gun but thought it weird

The delayed blowback of the HK P7 makes it like a 380, and the heavier one ,P7 M13 ,has the weight to soak up more .

I'm probably not a good one to ask though. I was shocked and appalled when told there was another handgun that fired the 9mm. :p

Compared to Beretta 92, S&W 3913, Glocks 17, 26, and Keltec P-11.

I don't stray too far as you can tell.

My Smith 5906 seems to have less felt recoil than most other 9s I've shot.

Worst were my Kel-Tec P-11 and a 1st Gen Smith 39 I once owned.

IMO, the Sig 226 9mm kicks quite a bit for a 9mm. Of course not a lot since its jus' a nine, but more than others because of the higher bore axis and the light weight aluminum alloy frame.

Of the ones I've shot, the lowest felt recoil was the Beretta 92FS. The gun is a lil' too big for the 9mm cartidge IMO, but it helps soak up the recoil.

A 1911 in 9x19 or the S&W M952-2. Both are very pleasant to shoot due to heavy steel frames and slides and relatively low bore axes referenced to hand position. Both also use rather light recoil springs which add to the "soft shooting" feel.

I compete with the Sig P226ST, and it's a beauty in the felt recoil department. With a 124 grain bullet over 3.8 grains of titegroup (match load), it barely moves at all.

Lowest recall in 9MM

I have a Ruger p89 and a S&W Sig9G. The Ruger jumps all over the place,I think it might be bcause of the large slide it has. The S&W has about half the recall jump of the two.

Of the dozens of 9mm pistols I have shot, the P7M8 had the lowest percieved recoil. I regret selling it. The low felt recoil comes from the blowback action in combination with the extremely low bore axis.

My Springfield 1911 in 9mm feels like my .22 Beretta 70s. I put a Smith and Alexander magwell on the 1911 as well so that added more weight. People are shocked it's a 9mm.

My Steyr GB has a very, very mild perceived recoil - especially the first round when you still have 18 left in the magazine.

The "gas brake" action is sort of like a recoil buffer.
