My first handgun was a M&P .45 fs. I got into CCW and owned Bersa's, Glock's, Berretta's, Ruger and Sig. After all those I end up right back where I started. I rescued a M&P 40c a few days ago, brought it home where it belonged and I am in love with it.

The M&P pistol is the sole reason for the new Gen 4 Glock's. Over 500 Police and Special forces has elected to go with the M&P, 300 of those replaced Glock's for the M&P.

Perfect size and features:

Went to the range a few days ago, the weather was just awesome.

I had to walk the last half mile, because the snow was to deep for my car. When I arrived my hands were already frozen but I decided to suck it up and put the 150+ rounds I came for down range. Loading a steal mag with cold bullets, well...it just down right sucks.

Managed to fire off all the rounds I had with me, not one failure of any kind my M&P was made in Jan of this year with a spent round date of 1-13-2010. It has a darker slide and the new rear site and wider slide lock.

I forgot to take my camera but I did have my cell phone...did not turn out to bad. Click on the picture below to see a Video.

Interesting enough, I just realized that you are on three of the same forums that I'm on, S&W, TFL and this one. I'll tell you what, each time I hit a new forum and see your post, it just makes me want mine (New M&P40c which arrives Monday) that much more.

Just picked up a M&P .45 full sized --Trijicon night sights---tonight.

S&W just started a new promo today for the M&P---$50 back or 2 mags---I'll be sending off for my mags on monday.

Can't wait to shoot it.

MP9c with safety?

Hello, whats your feeling on the mp9c BIG safety? Have anyone had trouble with it tripping off while putting in a hostler? I do like the gun and I like a safety on one. I wonder how hard it would be to take safety out and shorten in?

Thanks for your replies.

Nice. Very very nice pistol!!!
Use well, and only ever because you want to not because you have to.

I have the same pistol without the external safety and without the mag disconnect. I replaced the sights with XS sights. I absolutly love the gun, I think it is the perfect carry piece for me.

I changed the first picture in the original post because a few people had a problem with it. I think the new one is cooler anyway. Thanks for the kind comments.

Got a link to info for this promo? All I can see is this is for Sigma pistols. I just bought an M&P9c but don't pick it up till Friday. (stupid Md 7 day wait)

After taking my compact nine out rangin' today, I've finally come up with my only M&P complaint------it's too darn hard to find the finger grip extensions for compact magazines. On my mags without them, my fingers get pinched.
It's time for S&W to start offering a lot more extra parts & accessories for these pistols. I'd love an extra barrel for my .45.

Well damn it! I paid for mine on the 25th of Feb but haven't even picked it up yet. :fire: I wonder if my dealer can refund my $ than charge/write up a new reciept for me?

All you have to do is call S&W and ask for 'em (the extensions, that is . . . they just replace the baseplate on the standard mags). They'll send you 2-3 of them free of charge . . . but you gotta ask.

It's a sharp looking pistol, I haven't heard anything bad about it, and it looks a nice balance between concealability and shootability. I can see why you are in love with it.

Congrats on the new piece!

You just can't go wrong with the M&P's. I've shot several of them in various calibers and have never seen a hiccup out of any of them. I have the 45c model, and boy is it a blast! I personally don't consider it a "compact" pistol by any means, so it's not one of carry guns, but it comes along with me on almost every range trip. It's in my top three handguns as far as accuracy is concerned. It's no match grade target pistol, but for one reason or another I just shoot like a champ with it.

There is alot of .40 ammunition around these days too. Not that much more $$ than 9mm and a broad range of grainage.

As far as the $50 discount/Mag Promo....

S&W might be doing this to clear out the standard unit unit inventory as they are coming out with a cleaned up trigger version of all the M&Ps soon with only a slight premium in price. Trigger will be in line with the L and Pro Series.

I just picked up the same gun Saturday for $499.99. (I like it alot but I'm not ready to give up my XDs like bass did just yet. :) )

S&W has a promotional rebate going on right now for $50.00 back or 2 mags. I sent mine in for the 2 mags yesterday.

Dodge DeBoulet thanks for the heads up on the extensions. I'll be calling them shortly.

Extensions are on back order as of 3/2/10 (10:15 a.m.) but they are expecting them by the thousands. I spoke with a rep. (nice guy by the name of Joe), he took my name and address and put me on a list for when they come in.

Got my 9c yesterday... I think i'll love it much like my full size. I got both pistols with the safety (NOT THE MAG SAFETY) and then removed them both. Its way easy to do. Just punched out the pin and removed the sear and the safety falls right out. Then put it back together, took 5 minutes.

I preferred having the safety as an option if I want it however I find it gets disengaged in my holster frequently so I that's my reasoning for removing them, don't need to worry about it.
