Thanks, thefish. Have you tried the Pearce polymer baseplates/finger extension? How would you compare the NDZ one to the Pearce or to the factory extended magazine?

I haven't tried the Pearce, but I liked the looks of the ndz more, seemed less bulky somehow. And for an extra 5 bucks it's aluminum.

It really changes the feel of the shield, at least for me. I was a little skeptical but just having that pinky support makes a world of difference.

I'm all for aftermarket stuff, but surprised after installing one that smith didn't package something like that with the pistol. I know, price point and all.

Ndz makes 2 models, and I chose the one that covers the back of the grip. There are a few YouTube videos out there with reviews if you search around.

El Paso...

I'll pass on that M&P Shield add on.
It might help with the feel or marksmanship but it doesn't lend itself to CCW.
The tip seems like it will jab or snag on your clothes or side, :uhoh: .

I'm from the school of gunsmith Ikey Sparks; "a carry gun should feel like a well used bar of soap". ;)

I carry my "no thumb safety" model 9x19mm Shield with the factory extended pad but the regular magazine pad is fine for my CCW needs.
