I asked this question when the CORE first came out, but it seemed there wasn't enough familiarity yet with the product for people to give me an informed opinion.

When I bought my M&P 9C, I went into it with the understanding the trigger was terrible. Not only do I not like the safety design, it was incredibly gritty with several audible clicks both on the pull and reset. An APEX kit helped tremendously.

I realize the CORE has a similar safety style, but what about the rest of the trigger? Is it a smooth pull and a noticeable reset, or is it just as bad as the regular M&P?

Still has the audible brrrrrt on take up due to the striker block. Still a very shootable trigger. I like the apex FSS sear and trigger a lot better however.

Compared to my 2007 vintage M&P9 my 2014 M&P9 Pro CORE has a much more Glock like trigger with a reset. Neither has been gritty, even when new. My 2007 self polished and is decent, not great. The CORE trigger is actually a bit heavy and I'm hoping it will self polish like the 2007.

You can see before and after CORE trigger evaluation here if interested. No real reset to speak of before. After installing the RAM and FSS reset is more tactile and audible if it matters, and trigger pretravel is MUCH reduced and total travel reduced. After the video I put the stock trigger spring back in and got the break down around 4 lbs.
