M1/Model 1903 Quiz

Hi all,
Here's one for the 1903 guys. In May of 1941 Ordnance was trying almost anything to get Rifles built. So while SA was building the M1 Garand Rifle, Ordnance leased the Model 1903 Rifle plant which was installed at RIA Rock Island Arsenal, to Remington Arms. Remington received all the equipment for building the Model 1903's except for one part to make the 1903's. Here it comes. What was the part and why would RIA NOT turn it over to Remington??

Hi all,
Here's the answer to the above Quiz:
First "RIA was keeping the following "using four barrel reaming machines and two barrel grinding machines."
Second "Rock Island Arsenal cannot release them without interrupting their machine gun barrel production." So the answer is barrels.
