Hi all,
Well here's some info about the Model 1903 and the USMC. I asked in the quiz about the M 1903's. The answer was that the USMC in March of 1941 had approximately 52,000 servicable Model 1903's. The file goes on to tell us what I find of Interest. Here's what it states about the Model 1903:
"....4,000 awaiting reconditioning for which the Marine Corps has been unable to get spare parts from the Army; and an additional 3,000 each component of which is unservicable."
Remember, Ordnance is trying to build as many rifles as it can which are the Model 1903 and the M1 Garand. WW2 has already started.
Think about it.
