Gotcha. Well, I'd say it feels a bit lighter (recoil-wise) than when I have the action in a wood GI stock w/ metal buttplate. Maybe it is only perceived...

I figured it was a "gotcha" but was curious. I know that when you place the action more "inline" with the stock, the recoil is perceived to be not as bad and was wondering how a trimmed down M1A kicked.
