I posted back a month ago on my SA M1A failure to extract, I was told buy a Marine, I believe Active Duty? to send it off, it has a Lifetime Warranty.
I Emailed Springfield Armory, they sent me a free shipping ticket, I boxed it up and it is on it's way home to Daddy with a New Bolt and extractor! I was told the bolt was flawed and the problem showed up after a few hundred rounds.
I was also told the headspace was checked and it was given a good test firing to make shur that I am getting a excellent National Match Rifle back. I thank you for the insight, you made me a SA Supporter, I was worried about shipping? they payed for both ways, across the country along with the free repair's. I am Happy and even though they dont make the scopes any more for them I am looking at the New old stock for the 3rd generation. Built in distance finder and the bars to show you the correst elevation. If there is a good Tactical scope that is as good for around 600 let me know. 30MM Tube is a must.
Again thanks for the support. I am goin to the range and dialing it in ASAP if SA has not all ready for me .
Impressed and hopeful for All American Jobs for shur . We appreciate you American's, fighting for a real people who support you all the way !

if you are looking at the sa 3 generation scope mounts i have hear on several forums that they are junk. look at sadlak, smith enterprise,or bassett these all get great reviews. i am glad to hear that sa took care of you. you also might want to check out m14 firing line forums, i have learned alot from them.

The first SA M1A i bought had a bolt issue. I was the 3rd or 4th owner. SA paid for shipping both ways, installed a new bolt, set head space to my requested spec. They did charge me a wopping $25 to do a NM trigger job. You can't get better customer service IMHO.

As far as the SA scopes and mount's, I would do some research at http://www.m14tfl.com/upload/ before buying anything. The SA mounts and scopes have issues.

I have been using a Sadlak mount for three years now and it's rock solid, and it won't break the bank.
