The only thing that gets me, he says : ive never seen a stopwatch in a gunfight, this may be true, but what if the bad guy has to reload at the same time as u, possible he could be skilled and reload, not really fast but moderatly fast, he could beat u to the punch and while your reloading he could shoot u down. so i think that speed counts, but only if it can be dont with efficentcy.

The standard drill to clear a malfuntion is the
1. tap-rack-bang: hit the magazine to ensure it is seated, rack to slide to clear a malfuntion, and re-acquire the target and fire.

If this fails (which it usually will in the case of a double feed), then you proceed to a more compex drill. There are a variety of acronyms for this drill I have forgotten. The steps are:

Lock the slide to the rear and eject the magazine.
Rack the slide 2 or three times to ensure the chamber is clear.
Insert a fresh magazine and tap-rack-bang.

The multiple racking of the slide helps extract/eject in the event the malfuntion was caused by a fte/stuck case.
