Manufacturer service turnaround time

Heck, it took me two weeks to get an AR lower back to someone this month. Not that it was hard or the parts weren't there. Just didn't have the time. :uhoh:

I hope your major manufactured gun is not a Ruger. I've shipped three guns back to the factory.

S&W took between three days and ten days. Received a letter of receipt from S&W. Even upgraded some parts. All NIB guns.

Ruger was seven weeks after two follow-up calls from me. I've never purchased another Ruger since.

OH25shooter,

Check my post middle of previous page--it IS a Ruger MK512. Like I mentioned, there was some suggestion that a replacement might be made. I don't so much auto shooting so I am actually considering whether to use it as a trade in. Hard decision as I want a good gun for newbies, but just never use it myself.

Fastest to Slowest for an ordinary factory repair

1. Leupold
2. S&W/Walther
3. Colt/Trijicon
4. Remington/Ruger
5. Browning
6.Winchester
7. CZ
8. Taurus
9. Beretta/Sako/Springified (the three worst)

Yup, there it is...sorry I missed it. All I can tell you is MY experience. Others swear by Ruger's service time. In my case, my 22/45 was sent in for slide/ejection repair. In short, the person I spoke to on the phone said the repairs were far behind due to Ruger's Mark III hitting the market. Apparently, Ruger has one person working in the repair shop. Anyway, it was fixed and I like the gun. That's my story. If you deal with them, hopefully you will have a quicker turn-around time. Good luck!

Guys, if you think that manufacturers are bad deal with the BATF Licensing Center in Atlanta. I have been approved for my FFL01 since 1/26and am still waiting on the paperwork to start my shop.

The Inspector who did my background and approval couldn't even get a straight answer from them. BTW I held a current 03 at time of application.

A shooting buddy of mine had to send two different OU's at two different times back to Browning. Each one was gone for about 6 months. I, fortunately, have never had to send anything to any manufacturer for repair.
Knock on wood!
