Marchers say gringos, not illegals, have to go

Finally we get to the crux of the problem- It's the accordians!
I would personally like to appeal for amnesty for cajun accordians, they are being unfairly lumped in with the Other accordians, like the polka accordians and latino accordians.

Hooookay, ya got me, Tokugawa. A washboard, guitar, blues harp and an accordian can put a big smile on my face.:)

from Bill Frist's blog...

Today the Senate will begin debate on my Secure America's Borders Act (SABA) bill and tomorrow the first amendment offered will be the bill approved by the Judiciary Committee on Monday night.
In the coming days we will debate the merits of each. This debate will give Americans the opportunity to hear all sides of this important issue.

I believe this is an important debate for us to have, and equally important for us to act. For too long this problem has gone unaddressed and is now threatening our national and economic security.

As we enter into this debate, let me be clear with you where I stand:

We are a nation of immigrants built upon the rule of law. And so many legal immigrants have played by the rules when coming to this country and making a life for themselves and their families. We should not break faith with those who played by the rules, so I will not support amnesty. We respect the rule of law and those who made it here the right way, and are trying to make it here the right way, rather than reward those who came here the wrong way.

America needs to secure her borders and we need real interior enforcement. Which is why the bill I introduced prioritizes both as well as increases legal immigration, and in doing each, honors our heritage as a nation of immigrants who value the rule of law.

I am pleased that the Judiciary committee bill has strong border enforcement mechanisms - the inclusion of those in this bill is a big step in the right direction.

But we have much more work to do.

Well, any of these rioting thugs/invaders I catch (still alive) are going to get a chance to plead their case to the appropriate authorities. I.e. some very bad dudes.

After hearing their cockamamie story, and realizing they want their land as well, I can only imagine that the local Seminole tribes are going to have a field day disposing of these poseur "original owners of their country".

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Mexican race a mixture of Central American Indian and Spanish? I.E. they are half 'evil conquering European'. Where do they think their language came from?

This is a really shortsited statement right here. The conquered often have to endure the eradication of much of their culture, the forcible inclusion of the conquerers into their gene pool (rape), and, of course, the seizure of their lands.

This is basic history, a tactic used for thousands of years.

A rapist can be a father to the victim's child, does that not make him "evil" and "conquering?"

Oh, and Spain is in Europe.

If these illegal aliens are such hardworking individuals, how and why did they manage to take the last week off of work to hold all these protests?

NoPhilly,

You do realize that the Aztecs were conquered by the Spaniards with a great amount of help from neighboring tribes,(specifically, the Totonacs, Cempoalans, and thousands of warriors from the Tlascalans) who were keen on getting rid of the people who attacked, enslaved, and sacrificed them on a regular basis. In fact, Cortes made an instant alliance with a tribe by arresting five Aztec "tax collectors". Cortes wouldn't have survived a year without their help and succor.

So, the fall of the Aztecs wasn't so much accomplished so much by conquest by Europeans as it was payback time by their fellow tribes. Cortes was just the catalyst, and in the end, came out on top.

I love it when the race card gets played, and those doing the playing are the most obvious racists imaginable.
HEY MEXICO; WE KICKED YOUR BUTT ONCE, WE CAN CERTAINLY DO IT AGAIN !
I suppose that makes me a racist; oh well.

"Give what back?"

The only funny part about the extremists in La Raza and certain "Plan of San Diego" advocates claiming Mexican Nationals should "re-take" Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc., because it was supposedly "originally theirs" historically they are a little mistaken in their theory Mexicans ever inhabited the area to any extent, before the Norte Americanos colonized it.

The actual history of the region's development, was that Mexico's Government in 1824 thought the sourthwest was nothing but an Indian infested desert wasteland, and wanted the Gringos as a buffer against the Comanches and Apaches. Thus, they opened Texas up for conlonization, but not out of any heatfelt generosity, it was moreover, as protection against the annual spring invasions from the Comanches.

The Comanches and Apaches had inhabited the region above the Rio Grande hundreds of years before the first Spainiard-Mayan cross ever set foot north of the Rio Grande river. And there was good reason.

The Comanches and Apaches had an annoying habit of raiding down deep into Mexico, killing Mexicans, stealing their animals, raping their women, and generally not being very nice to them. So the Mexican Government was more than happy, when Moses Austin offered to bring in a bunch of Gringos to colonize, thus establishing a "Fronteria" (which meant to them at the time, a "Front") in order to be a buffer against Comanches and Apaches raids.

So the problem is, the "Plan of San Diego" advocates say they want to "reclaim" something their ancestors certainly did not want, (and only possessed in theory, since the Indians possessed it at the time) so if it is to be returned to anyone, it wouldhave to be the Comanches and the Apaches, if they wanted any fairness from the "damned big footed creatures of the north".

So until the Comanche Indians start marching and protesting, I believe I'll hang on to my little old piece of ground.

Oh, dear. Looks like someone has been watching just a wee bit much TV and Hollywood "entertainment."

Well, I guess we don't call it "television programming" for nothing...

What's so sad is that many screamed "conspiracy theory" just over TEN years ago when this was being discussed in some Alternative Media.

We, as a people, need to pull our melons out of our hinder parts and INVESTIGATE WITH OPEN MINDS the things that are being discussed on the fringes... :fire:

This could have been (and should have been) dealt with in 1993...

this is just a blip on the radar.. more anti-americans behaving in an anti-american fashion. their howling and whining doesn't amount to much, and they sure aren't taking anything back; not by force, not diplomatically...

And it disturbs me a lot to see the stars and bars below the Mexican flag.
Ummmm... doger5, just a minor point of clarification please....

The Stars and Bars was the Confederate battle flag, the Stars and Stripes is the American flag....

:)

In truth, meef, there may not be all that much difference between the two when taken in context.:)

The "Stars and Bars" and the "Confederate battle flag" are two different flags.

After seeing images of the marchers flying the Stars and Stripes upside down and underneath a Mexican flag here I am moved to do something about it.
I don't know if I am going to be hurting the pockets of the wrong individuals but I'm not going to be eating in any Mexican restaraunts anytime soon.
This whole thing is making me too angry to be spending my money in that kind of establishment, not to mention that the way tensions are right now I would be worried that they would be slipping in a little 'extra relish' in gringo's meal.

Are these people laughing at us?
Is it funny to them to be on US soil with those flags in the background?

:scrutiny:
Maybe because all those people you saw werent illegals.

As I pointed out in my other post, very many Mexican-AMERICANS are sympathetic to the cause of illegal immigrants. When prop 187 passed years ago, there were large protests and demonstrations against it. Most of the people doing the demonstrating WERE NOT illegals. They were Californians.. American citizens.

Despite the protests, It passed by a good margin, but was overturned later. Everyone here is trying to make this into an "Us vs Them" issue with all the talk about loading magazines and shooting people. It's much more complex than that. It's more like Us vs Us vs Our government vs Us vs Them.

Prop 187 for those who dont remember..

Most interesting to me in reading this thread is that those who are branded as being "reactionary" in their views more often than not list border states as their home in their profile.

Its easy to be dismissive of the shifting demographic and political situation if you are not confronted daily by Mexican flags on every other car during your commute, "La Raza" this,"La Raza" that, and open declarations of La Reconquista.

Most illegal Mexicans have a strong ethnic identity while Americans (for the most part, white Americans) have been conditioned to discard their own and think in terms of "Americanism".

I live in a border state, and I am taking this very, very seriously.
