I have a Camp 9. I Think I have all of the basic problems covered.16.5 lb spring,BJ buffer and Choate stock...Any other problems with this gun?Stock....it shoots straight and recoil is none.I have yet to do these mods but all are in hand.Every time I pull the trigger,it fires.Basic 124gr Golden sabers.Has anyone had problems with this gun?

With those mods, it'll run like a champ as long as you don't drop it too hard on the trigger/mag assembly.

why don't they make this rifle any longer? seems like everybody who has one likes it.

Just had mine return from marlin. Firing pin broke and jammed up the bolt mechanism. Only problem I ever had with it. Ran like a sewing machine before and running like that now. Was using standard brass cased ammo. Guess it was just "one of those things"......

I guess it just got too expensive to produce and not enough people were buying one to justify continuing production. They are a well made carbine, though. I don't see them much, but just about every longtime shooter I meet has one or two stashed away.

+1 on keeping Aluminum cases out of the camp 9 they don’t have sufficient neck tension to keep the bullet from seating deeper. This makes the operating pressure go through the roof and cracked stocks and broken parts are the result. I still have mine, but can see why they don’t make them any more, it’s an expensive plinker and it’s not black.

Why would anyone want a Camp 9?

I can take a Camp 9 to California and no-one cares (must be that artistic, organic real wood stock). If I take my Storm 9mm I get locked up.

Go figure.

I though I heard part of the reason they were withdrawn was PC attitudes of Marlin. Even this innocent lil thing was too "assaultish"

I have owned both and still have the 9. The .45acp with 1911 mags really made sense. These guns have their quirks but they are fun and very accurate.

I have both 9mm and .45 they both shoot Golden Sabres well. remove the magazine well safety lock-out (so it won't fire with mag removed) and the trigger wil be some better.

I have both the 9x19mmP and the .45ACP carbines too.

I've been very happy with both, keeping them in their original wood stocks.

I did replace the factory buffers with Blackjack ones, and I did replace the original recoil springs with new Wolff ones (which, by the way, are 21 lb springs).

Make sure that you keep the action tight in the stock.
