Married Guys: Does your wife shoot with you?

She sure does, and shoots handguns better than I do.. Rifles, a different story.

She shoots a Ruger SP101 in 357 and a 45colt Beretta cowboy wheel gun...

Most of the time. We don't always have agreeing schedules, so I might put my gun bag in the truck on the way to work and stop by the range on the way home. But when we schedule time to go shooting, she loves it. She shoots a Model 19, a 380, whichever of our .22's we bring and her Taurus 85 in lieu of her Airweight 38.

she shoots with me all the time. it increases the ammo bill, but it's better than her shooting AT me.:D

she does have caliber limits though. no .44 mags, 12 gauges, or .308's.

she has her own guns (mostly stainless in handguns), 2 20 gauges, a .45 auto, 2 .357 mags, 3 9mm's a wasr10, a mini 14, and a .22 rifle and pistol.

now the stepdaughter (13 y.o.) wants her own guns. :what:

My wife will shoot my 22/45 or my 10/22 when she makes the occasional trip to the range with me. 380 ACP and 38 Special are too heavy of a recoil for her (out of a full frame 42 oz 357 Magnum no less).

The other day though she made me very proud. I am a big Dirty Harry fan and have the movies and made her suffer through 1 or 2 etc. On Jeopardy the other night, all the contestants missed the Dirty Harry quote, "This is the most powerful handgun in the world and could blow your head clean off" etc. One gentleman answered, "357 Magnum." I turned to my wife and said, "Honey what is it?" She answered "Its the 44 Magnum of course." Ouch!

Wife, best friend, constant companion -- yes, we shoot together.

Her carry gun is an XD-9 SC; her first purchase, which still has a special place in her heart, is a Glock 23; she also has an S&W M&P in 9 mm for no reason that I can ascertain except that she wanted it. Her only rifle so far is a Ruger 10/22. She has shot without complaint a 30-06, but I think she liked a friend’s .243 better. The last we discussed it, she was thinking getting of an AR, which she considers to be “feminine,” but the Beretta CX4 Storm is also a contender. She has no interest in shotguns.

She is just starting work on her PhD in industrial engineering – her main interests are in quality and reliability – and may be open to suggestions for gun related topics for papers or even a dissertation.

Not bad for a former (but self-cured) hoplophobe, huh?

My wife has her own safe, and it's FULL. Does that count?

Yeah, she shoots with me, but lately she's even been going without me.:scrutiny:

Just because she gets off work in the middle of the day, and I don't get home until evenings most times, she thinks she can just head on out for some trigger time.:D I married a good one!

Yes my wife shoots. She has a nice collection of shotguns,410,20b,16b,12,and a 10b.To be honest she is a better shot than me,something to do with not getting to excited when seeing a bird in flight.

My wife shoots- with me? Sorta. she sits there with her .22 (or did til it was stolen) and fires off about half a brick, then picks up the .357 and fires off a half-box or so...

NOTE TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE SHOOTERS FOR WIVES:

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT spend all day organizing your gun room when you told your wife you'd clean the house.

Because then she comes home, takes a look around and asks "What have you been doing all day?"

So you proudly show off your accomplishment like your cat showing you the mouse he just killed, just so she knows you DID clean up in the house, just like you said you would. I mean it was a disaster in there, right? And now it's all neat and organized.

Nice going, she now knows exactly how much of what you have that fits her guns.:uhoh: Never mind you've had some of it since before you even met her. It's now "ours".

The above is with a D'OH to the forehead on my part.

Yep. She enjoys trap more than pistol, but she's pretty good with all. We're waiting on her two Uberti revolvers to come in for cowboy action :D

The last time we were at the range, my wife shot up 90% of the ammo we brought with us. She doesn't go with me often but when she does she enjoys it very much...

My wife will shoot with me sometimes, maybe twice a year. She never shot any kind of firearm before she met me, and had a number of misconceptions fed by TV and hollywood, but I think we got past that. She rolled her eyes and tolerated me when I got my CWP a few years back, but after about 4 or 5 years of seeing that it didn't turn me into a monster and reading about all the violent crime in our area, she went last year and got her own CWP and now she carries her own 38 with laser grips.

She looks at shooting as a chore and doesn't like it all that much, but when she does go with me (the only times she goes shooting are with me) she usually does better than I do with the marksmanship part of things. And, her new interest in shooting made her a lot more tolerant of me going out and spending $ for ammo and reloading supplies.

My next goal with her is to get her comfortable with the long guns I have, I think eventually we'll get there.

Mi wife shoots w/me sometimes. Usually if I go to the range at a time when it's not likely to crowded. She does have her own pistol though. And she doesn't have any problems with my shooting. Even bought me a range membership this year. If we had easy access to an outdoor range she would probably go more.

My wife used to shoot with her father years ago before we were married. She doesnt shoot at all now , but I recently introduced my daughter to my Glocks.
She prefers the Model 19 9mm but is equally as accurate with my Model 22 .40 cal. She can even shoot the staples holding the target ...on purpose... Oh to have young eyes....

I hate to admit it but she is generally more accurate than I am with my Kimber Pro CDP II....

She didn't want to try the .38.

My wife hates my S&W 637... First time shooting it, she bloodied up her hands when the recoil and her grip combined to push the cylinder release into her thumb hard enough to break the skin. She doesnt blame me, but its still probably my fault for not checking closely enough.

Yes, but only occasionally. She has taken a two-day defensive handgun course with me. Then she shot a S&W 4013. Her current preference, though, is a Kahr P9 for serious shooting, and a Browning Buckmark for plinking. I would characterize her as a willing participant, but not an enthusiast. She goes with me, rather than for the shooting.

Nope.

When we first were going out many many moons ago. I took her shooting with me a few times. Then she just stopped going. She now likes it when i take our boys shooting on the weekends. She likes the time alone and she usually cleans up the house. She says were always in her way when she wants to clean up. So thats her alone time when i take the boys out for the day. Same time for us thats our chance to get out by ourselves. We have talked to her about coming with us again. She just dosent care for it. She does not care if we go she just dosent care for it.

Boy Does She!!!

My wife shoots with me and without me!!! She is a shoot-a-halic!!!

She has and shoots her own: .22 henry golden boy, Browning .22 auto take down, AR15, Garand, 12 ga Beretta 391, Mossberg 20 ga, Ruger Bear cat, Browning buckmark (open sights) Buckmark Nickel (optic), Keltec p32, Beretta 92FS, Ruger Vaquerro .357, & Kimber Compact (cause "every girl should have her own .45").;)

She is fun to shoot with and EXTREMELY proficient with all!:)

Just added a Browning .223 WSSM that hasn't arrived. She wants to hunt coyotes! :D

Can I pick them or what!!!!!

My wife shoots with me, but not without me.

She has a Ruger MKII 22/45, Sig P226, 3 Kimbers, Baby Eagle .40 and she has taken over the Desert Eagle 44mag. She has others too, but these are her favorite.

She also has her own FAL.
