I'm considering purchasing several FA (handgun and long gun) from one of the dealers ads in Shotgun News. I realize I will have to have it shipped to a FFL dealer and pick it up from there. I could just pick one from the phone book, but was wondering if anyone could recommend a local FFL dealer in my area ( I was hoping for one in the Essex to Belair Md area ) also what is the normal fee charge for this?
thanks.

Check out the FFL list at auction arms. www.auctionarms.com . There are several in the Essex to Bel Air area. Realize that some will not handle pistol transfers since MD has additional requirements for pistol purchases. (Safety video seven day hold, etc....)

Also fees are all over the map. Recognize that the purchase of pistols has a state fee for the background check involved that is over and above the dealer's FFL fee.

Good luck.

Expect to pay $35 for a rifle/shotgun and $45 for an "assault rifle" or handgun. Talk to Bel Air Guns up on Route 1.

$40 for a handgun or regulated firearm is about average, including the $10 state police fee. $20-30 for a long gun (non-regulated firearm).

Christian Soldier is on Harford Rd, just up the Beltway from you. The hours are a little weird, but Rob is a good guy.
