Hello Everyone,

I've read about the so called Maylasian (?) loads used by the British troops in their shotguns...usually in jungle warfare. This basically consisted of heavy buckshot surrounded by light shot.

They're often described as devastating.

What is the logic of the two differing shot sizes?

Does anyone know the exact shot size and pellet count for each size in these loads?

Does any reputable loader offer these loads for sale today?

IIRC, the load consisted of something like SSG (About 000) pellets with some #2 birdshot added.

I'm sure it was devastating. So is standard loadings of buck.

Duplex loads have some utility with turkey and waterfowl hunting. I can see little they'd do for "Serious" use that cannot be done with a stock 9 pellet laod of 00.
