Merry Christmas to all of my internet family on THR. It's been a tough year but faith and family keep me going.

Even though I no longer wear the uniform of our great military, I still wish my brothers and sisters in arms a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and safe travels home to your loved one.

To the rest of them up with our Lord, God Bless and a crisp salute in honor your sacrifice.

I'd show a photo of my house with all the lights, but since it's been on TV and in the papers in the last few days/weeks (along with me), a fair number of locals might recognize it and then my address would be known.

Christmas Morning

It is now officially Christmas morning here in North Idaho.

This year, I'm reprising my role as the "reluctant bachelor" as my wife holds the fort 900 miles away, finding time to manage the remodel, pack for the second phase of the move, run her own business, and still cook for six or seven people.

I will be cooking for one.

There are miles between the family members, but no distance at all between our thoughts.

And I have some of my closest friends here at my fingertips.

Merry Christmas! It's 9:00 a.m. Christmas morning here in Ohio, my wife and son are still asleep. Probably the last year THAT will happen. I'm leaving the 'net to go wake my family and spend the day with them. Please enjoy your holiday as much as I plan on enjoyinh mine.
