My first impression of the DWX so after, am glad I waited!
First off the pistol is absolutely beautiful, the gaps, the overall lines the fit and finish is great. No tooling marks no rough parts, although the last 3 digits are electo penciled on the under neath on the slide and barrel.
The top of the slide has the typical CZ serrations, has a shadow 2 rear sight and pretty good side serrations.
The safety lever feels good, wish it was a tad wider, also has a very positive click when applied.
The slide stop, big improvement over CZ 75 pistols. I can reach and activate the lever with my med to large hands without breaking my grip. It also has the typically CZ takedown minus the harsh marks located on the slide and frame.
The slide stop pin is also beefer than a CZ 75.
Mag release also very good, for me once again don't have to break my grip. It does differ in that it's retained via 1911 screw. Would like to see a shadow 2 paddle release available sometime.
The grips are awesome pretty aggressive texture. They don't have that CZ palm swell I prefer. No intention in changing out the grips but if I do it be for the lok brass grips.
The grips interchange but the screw sizes are different??
In handling the DWX and comparing to my shadow 2, the DWX feels better. It's got a higher cut under the trigger and up under the beaver tail. I can get up higher on the DWX than I can vs the Shadow 2 and it just feels more comfortable. The front strap is slightly wider and more ovaled shaped.
The trigger is well let's say 1911 like cause it is. The fire control group is swappable 1911 parts.
Mine has a far better trigger than my dan wesson Valor. You have probably about 1mm take-up, hit a hard wall, 3.5 lb later and about 1mm of travel the hammer falls. The reset is fast.
The slide to frame fit in rear is pretty darn tight, if there's movement I can't see it or feel any. But, the front half does have some vertical movement, not much but it's there.
The one thing I don't like so far, the trigger shoe is sharp!!! and needs rounded off.
