MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag

I've owned the big Midway bag for about 18 months. It has held up really well during this period.

To answer OP's question on whether or not the bag's bottom will sag when full...The short answer is "No". The longer answer is "Maybe". You probably could overload it to that point. But it would be so heavy you would have difficulty carrying it.

This is a BIG bag. Since the natural tendency is to fill up empty space, I tend to carry a lot of stuff in mine. It's so full of "stuff" I now carry ammo in a GI ammo box when I go to the range. The damn bag is too heavy for me to handle when I put ammo and a couple of handguns inside in addition to the other other stuff I carry.

It's a good bag at an excellent price.

You can't beat that midway bag for the price. Its a great bag and room enough for LOTS of gear.

I just bought one on sale and received it the other day. It is actually much larger than I needed, however for the price it is a keeper.

Midway Range Bag

As others have said. This is a great range bag. I bought mine a couple of years ago on sale. Room for lots of stuff; good, strong zippers, just good quality overall.

Like Damon555 said, the shooting mat is a good buy as well. I would have prefered a little more padding but for the sale price it is a good mat.

All of these Midway products go on sale periodically; which makes them a really good buy.

I bought this bag earlier in the year for $32 (on sale) and it's worked great. On my range trips, it usually contains: hundreds of rounds, 3-4 pistols (which is the most I ever take to the range at one time), 2 electronic ear muffs, water bottle, dozens of magazines, etc, etc... and it has held up very well in the 9 months I've had it.

Highly recommend the bag.

Thanks to everyone for the input and opinions. It was very helpful, and also good to know that the bag won't sag. I feel like I'm now making a better informed decision. I'll be getting the Competition Bag and I think the OD Green is the way I'll be going.

I only have one problem with the Big Bag. Larry brought it out in Black first. I am about ready to give the Black one to the oldest son, and get myself a new OD Green one. The OD Green one is much better looking in my opinion. My brother says he will stay with his Black one so when we car pool to the range we can keep the gear straight. I already have all my revolvers in Midway OD Green Pistol Cases. Another Super Buy on sale. I have an order in for OD Green Army Name tags with my S&W Model numbers on them. I plan to have them sewn on my pistol cases to be able to tell what I have without opening every one up and looking. It will also help to keep my Speedloaders, moon clips, and other gear straight. I keep them stored in the side pockets.

I also have the Big OD Pro Series Shooting Mat. Like was said above another Super Buy on sale, and a great product. We had an F Class match yesterday, It was the most used mat on the range.

If you decide that the Big Bag might be to heavy loaded, get 2 of the Smaller Bags, they are not that expensive on sale. I normally carry all my ammo in a big Dry Box. About the size of a Fat 50 ammo can in plastic. Not having the ammo in the bag helps a lot with weight.

I'm not really worried about loading it too heavy. As I mentioned earlier, I'd be using this bag when I shoot at a friend's property when I like to take some bulky, but lightweight, things like a large tarp for more easily finding my brass. And if the bag ended up being too heavy to easily carry, even with the shoulder strap, I figure I can always remove the handy included inner bag and carry it separately with the ammo in that to disperse the load.

Given how many threads that sale generated and how many of us purchased them.. I think Midway owes us a kickback ;)

Just kidding Midway!

I have this bag also and it has one BIG PROBLEM.... you can put so much stuff in it you can barely pick it up. I love it and it is not like a gym bag and loose it's shape when you put some ear plugs in it.... Just need a fork lift to move it around...

I purchased one and it appears to be an exact copy of the CED bag which I already own. Probably made in the same Chinese factory.
