I recently bought mine. It is the new SS SA/DA version. 300 rounds so far of mixed Winchester ammo (WWB jhp, Silvertips and WWB fmj) and Wolf fmj. No failiures of any kind to date. I don't like the Heinie sights so I filled in the dot on the rear sight with a black sharpie so now I have just the front dot. Works better for me, but others opinions will vary.
As a carry gun it is a dream to carry in a IWB holster. The gun is so thin, that even though it feels good in my hand I wanted to beef it up a little. (something that I can't believe I would ever do to a double stack .45! lol) I installed a Houge slip on grip on the gun it it feels even better.
The trigger on mine is still kinda tight and heavy but it is constantly improving. Recoil is very smooth and totally managable. I find it comparable to my Glock 19 and I think that this is one of the PT145's major strong points.
I think this gun is an awesome buy and a great addition to my collection. I would readily recommend it to anybody looking for a compact .45 for CCW.
