1214201416.jpg Today I was shooting had a squib that lodged just past the forcing cone. In the process of trying to remove the squib with a rod the cylinder crane literally flew off the gun. Attached is a picture. Where the retaining screw holds the crane in, I guess the crane had a slide hammer effect and forced its way past the screw and gouged the crane. So a couple of questions, can the crane be repaired by adding a spot of weld and machining back down? I have the retaining screw, but is there supposed to be a spring and ball in the end of it because the screw is Hollow?

1214201553.jpg Mines a 10-11. All that they list are old style which appear to be shaped slightly different where the retaining screw goes. The groove on mine is angled and those look straight. However I see that the yoke screw is different than mine. Mine is Hollow and the ones they have have a solid un threaded portion that locks the crane in. Does mine just have the wrong screw in the wrong place that allowed this to happen

To each his own, but I would weld it.

If I recall, the screw has a (polymer) ball fit in the end; I don't think it's spring loaded, but it might be.
