Model 12 cocked or not?

When keeping the shotgun in the safe, should I keep it cocked, or should I drop the hammer? (unloaded, no rounds in tube...of course)

how about with HD rounds in the magazine (none in the chamber of course)?

Cocked with safety on? hammer down, then no safety as it cannot be engaged like that. I guess I am wondering about the hammer spring taking a set...most of my guns I drop the hammer when storing the gun.

i would say snap the pin, either with a snap cap or without. releives the spring tension. If somone knows that this is wrong feel free to inform me.
