Well, I'm sitting here watching the news coverage of the shooting in Montreal, and I keep thinking how sad it is that these shooters are nearly unchecked because of the strict gun control laws Canada has had for many years.

This is just further proof that gun control does NOT stop criminals from obtaining guns and committing acts of violence. Gun control only disarms the victims.

Montreal police: College shooting suspect shoots self
POSTED: 2:24 p.m. EDT, September 13, 2006

MONTREAL, Quebec (AP) -- A gunman dressed in military fatigues opened fire Wednesday in the cafeteria of a Montreal college and wounded an unknown number of people before shooting himself, witnesses and police said.

Dozens of students at Dawson College near downtown fled into the surrounding streets after the shooting broke out at the school of about 3,000.

Student Devansh Smri Vastava said he saw a man in military fatigues storm the school's cafeteria and that he heard about 20 shots fired.

He also said teachers ran through the halls telling students to get out.

A SWAT team and canine units were at the college, going floor by floor to look for victims, Sgt. Giuseppe Boccardi told CNN.

"Most of the students have exited the college grounds," he said.

Martine Millette of the Montreal police said authorities did not know how many people had been shot.

Police said the man later shot himself.

One student told radio station 940 News that she had seen two people who had been shot, including one who was hit in the neck.

The student said a friend told her four people had been shot.

watching it as well...

i just saw it on the news myself while enjoying chicken parm in the local deli... and my first thought was this: gun control or not, you will always have a**holes blasting in public; now, do you want to be defensless and running away or dying, or do you want to have a fighting chance !
:fire:

Don't you get it? Those guns came from some GUN FRIENDLY place like Florida! We need to control US guns to make Canada safe! :barf:

Y'all remember the Empire State Building shooting and Mayor Rudy blamed "Florida guns?" Yea, Rudy in '08! NOT! :banghead:

Sorry, Grasshopper. That's not the way it works. You need to understand the "reasoning" liberals use to justify gun control:

Crime Goes Down
"Crime is going down?? This is proof our gun control laws are working!! We must pass even more gun control laws to lower the crime rate even more!"

Crime Goes Up
"What? Crime is going up? Hmm. We need more gun control, then."

See how it works? :barf:

CNN commnetator just noted that Canadians are upset about American border security that allows guns into Canada. Watch for the hand wringing to start on the part of leftist Canadians. Maybe someday the decent parts of Canada will secede and join with America.

The anti crap will start soon and look for it on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC.

SIGH! Here we go again!:banghead:

Well I'm upset that Canadian border security lets in people like Bryan Adams and Peter Jennings.

So the fact that the shooter was Canadian slips by, it's still Americas fault.
If he'd used German cutlery instead would they hold Berlin accountable?

Will there ever be a time again where people just realize there are some nuts in the world and you need to be prepared to deal with nuts?

I think that he used a GLOCK. I sent an e-mail to Canada telling them to blame Austria. I think we are in the clear now. Whew! They almost got us this time.

It's the US's fault...

Just watch the talking heads (Theirs and Ours)... All the guns are being forced across their borders, and into the childrens hands, by the US gun lobby/manufactures/NRA/stupid Americans.

Boxcab

Maybe they were using baseball bats for weapons in Chicago.
Lord knows the Cubs haven't been using theirs too much this year.

Remember the million man march? Why dont all of us pro-gun people get together and march on Washington and do some protesting of our own when they start trying to pass more of these gun laws. Sorry, i dont mean to hijack this thread but i just got to thinking. And maybe this wouldnt be a good idea, hell i'm just thinking outlide.:banghead: <---- this really is me, i'm confused

1) Glad they let in Shania Twain and Neve Campbell, to name a few.
2) I though it was the Canadians responsibility to check "incomers", not our border patrol?
3) I heard on the radio today, something about a "dude with, like, an AK-47 or, like some semi auto machine gun, man". Later I heard Glock. I think earlier it was a full machine gun.

I heard some interview with a witness who kept repeating "He had a huge machinegun". And also related that the shooter had a "retarded haircut" (or at least, that's what it sounded like she said).

We all have jobs. It is a lot easier for the other side to gather "a million" people.

As for transportation, they just ask Soros, et. al. to bus them in.

On a more serious note: Calling, visiting or writing your congress critters (a LETTER, not E-MAIL) has more influence than "marching on Washington."

The Canadian government has been using Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" movie as a training film in their criminal justice programs.

They're more different up there than most of you will ever imagine.

Beretta, etc.

The Goth shooter used a Beretta CX4 (called a "Baretta" by the gun-saavy reporter), a .45 semi and some kind of rifle the press described as "being able to fire four rounds at once."

Thank goodness, only one person died.

Of course, the anti's in the media found some banners to interview.

And, the debate will continue up here. We have a conservative minority government intent upon dismantling the expensive and useless gun registry.

In the fall, the (Lie)berals, the even-more-socialist NDPs and the completely wacko Quebec separatists will push for more gun banning.

Meanwhile, the Canadians with brains will be pushing for concealed carry (yeah, in my lifetime:rolleyes: )

The Conservative Prime Minister is quite popular these days. Unfortunately, his sending of more troops to Afghanistan, his strong support of Israel, and his promise to dismantle the gun registry and get tougher on gun criminals will not help him in Quebec.

Quebec--anti-Semitic, pacifist, anti-US, and fond of gun control and school shootings (third big one in twenty years), may thwart a Conservative majority.

Hey, please, would you guys like a 51st French-speaking state?

And you guys support a Quebec tourist industry???:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
