More ?? on Longshot and cast bullets 44 Mag

I have posted a thread or 2 on Longshot. Using it in 9 and 40 and soon 45 Colt. In my never ending quest to find more uses for it.

How about Longshot in the 44 Mag with Hard Cast bullets? Hodgdon lists data for a Jacketed. I have read some pluses and minus. It's close to 2400 in burn rate and faster than H110 (which I use with lead) so I do not see a issue with it in 44 Mag.Would be mid range magnum loads anyway.

Anyone use it in this caliber. Any problems leading (yes I know size matters)

I do, and it's very good.
I use it for cast bullets and loads a bit lighter than typical.

I've found that a 250gr SWC at ~1,000fps will do anything I need a handgun to do. Hence, I don't load them to ~1,300fps over ~20.0gr of #2400 anymore.
9.8gr of LongShot gives identical accuracy at half the charge weight and half the recoil.
I started using the LongShot in 9mm handgun and seeing Brian Pierce's articles in Handloader used it in the .45Colt. It works just as well in the .44mag.

I am trying LongShot in my 357 SIG ... have not shot any over the chronograph yet so I don't know how it matches up velocity wise ... but it does shoot nice groups ... (when I can see) ... older folks know what I mean...

Excellent, thanks. I also use it in 9 and 40 So this pretty much has me covered. I can use it in Everything I shoot other than 45 ACP (I could but not the best to slow)

No I do not think it is. Per the Australian Powder chart it is closer to 2400.
But I really don't know. It may be also.

There is Alliant 410 and

Accurate 4100

The burn rate shows it close to Alliant 410 and 2400
