Mossberg 500 Modifications

All,

I'm looking to make some mods to my Mossy 500. Namely the trigger group and the safety. I've found some info on the safety (replace plastic with steel...), but have found absolutely nothing on trigger modifications. Can anyone point me to info on smoothing out that goshawful trigger?

Shoot it a bunch. I've jet to find a gunsmith who'll admit to doing mossberg 500 work, unfortunately.

The Mossberg trigger group uses a transfer bar/disconnector from the trigger to the sear. Basically a strut that links from the top of the trigger to the sear. This prevents one from doing much with the trigger travel, but the hammer to sear engagement , as well as spring tension, can be worked on to smooth and lighten the pull. This is best left to a qualified smith for a couple of very good reasons . (safety being primary) . It should be no harder to do than any other trigger job.
