If it kicks like my 500 slug gun, the question is how long can you last! Lol
Mine is brutal!
Mossbergs beat me up until I shim 'em for more stock drop. The stock is too shallow out of the box. Proper FIT really helps reduce felt recoil. Mossberg makes a shim kit for the purpose, but I just used pop bottle plastic and cut to fit 3 or 4 until I got it where I wanted it. Now it's nice.
I had an OLD Revelation 310 I traded for, bought a 500 barrel for it for the new steel shot laws in 1980. I bought a new 500 camo in 1992 and sold the old Revelation which is still going for the guy I sold it to. My 500 has never missed a beat through many duck seasons in the salt marsh despite less than nice treatment at times. That gun has never seen anything, but high brass 2 3/4 and 3" steel or hevishot. It's been my go to duck and goose gun.
I bought a model 535 with 3.5" chamber a couple of years ago at a pawn shop. I shimmed the stock on it, too, but I cannot imagine firing 21 rounds of 3.5" T shot out of it like I have my 10 gauge H&R. Talk about BRUTAL! I mean, one shot's okay on the pattern board, but the 10 gauge outweighs that Mossy by a couple of pounds and that really helps. The 10 shoots better patterns, so I figure I'll keep using the 10 on geese and maybe use the 535 some on ducks with 2 3/4" shells. I really didn't need it, but I like Mossbergs, rugged and the ergos are FAR superior to anything else except a Browning BPS. I shoot left handed and love the tang safety and really appreciate the shell elevator design on the Mossy and Brownings, out of the way for reloading fast without hassle. Been there, done that with 870s, no thanks. You can have 'em. And, mine was a Wingmaster, not a crappy express.
