Oldnam, where'd you find it?
They seem like great guns. I know one guy with one, and it's been flawless.
I hope they produce and sell more. We need a reasonably-priced autoloader to give the $1000 field guns some competition and bring their prices down to reality.
It's a shame Winchester went belly up and the M1400 was dropped. Mine cost me $255 at Wallyworld, a "Ranger" model, back in the late 1980s. It has been flawless. It only shoots 2 3/4" stuff, but for the bulk of my hunting other than geese (have a Mossberg pump for that) it's plenty. And, BOY, does that thing ever soak up the recoil! It's just a pleasure to shoot 2 3/4" magnum steel out of that thing, a sheer pleasure compared to that danged shoulder shattering Mossberg.
Well, shoulder bruising is more appropriate, I guess. I haven't had a dislocation from it, but it definitely kicks a lot harder than the Winchester.
I considered a magnum M935 for a while with the 3.5" chambers, but I really don't need one what with Remington Heavy Shot and Heavy Steel on the market. The new Heavy Steel is much more effective than steel and is pretty affordable at about 20 bucks for a 25 round box. I'm used to paying 15 bucks about for a 10 round box of magic stuff.
I just wish they'd get that Heavy Steel in 2 3/4" loads now for late season ducks when they get decoy shy.
I suppose, now that the M1400 hasn't been on the market for 10 years, the 930 and 935 Mossberg is THE affordable semi auto. I have considered, also, the purchase of a Charles Daly, about 300 bucks, but I don't know. The Mossy is made here, don't know about the CD and I've heard mixed opinions of it. Thing, too, about the Mossy is I really like the tang safety.
