Mossberg with Knoxx kit?

Yes, it is real. Here are other images I found on google of it either in the packaging or already installed.

The kit was not that expensive a few years back, but now that it has been discontinued due to "finding a vendor that could consistently provide parts made to specifications".

So I am just trying to find a fair price range to buy one already installed on a Mossberg 500

I do not expect an exact price, just a range for the current market.

Again, market depends on where you are and what is legal, available, etc.

You can always look on Gun Broker at closed auctions to see what a general idea is. You could also call several LGS in your area to see what they want for them

Again, VALUE is a personal thing - A Mossberg with a Knoxx does NOTHING for me, whereas an AyA SxS might do the same for you..........

If this is something you really want, then it will have a high value, and subsequent market value to you

The GB idea is a good one.

As to something I really want, I can take it or leave it. I already have plenty of firearms, but thought a shotgun like this might be fun to shoot. I am certainly not going to pay for a converted Saiga with their prices through the roof, so I figure this one might be decent at the right price. Trouble is, I'm not sure what is a good price at present.

Wow, I want one. Gonna make some calls to the LGS's to see what they can do for me.

As for price, I don't know what the market holds right now, but I won't pay more then the shotgun cost me initially, FWIW.

Edit: A quick google showed a couple in the $300 range a couple years ago.

I assume you mean for the kit itself, not with a Moss 500 along with it. ;)

back when they sold new, the stock was around 100 bucks and the sidewinder kit about 200.
Add 230 for a pistol grip 500 and you get to $530.00 just to put it together.

I've never handled or shot one, but given that they're no longer available, you'd probably be better off seeking one of the newer magazine-fed shotguns like the Saiga-12 instead.

I thought about one of those, but for whatever reason they seem very expensive. I see them advertised for 1200-1600 depending on the model/features and that just seems:eek:

As a matter of fact I've seen a few ads taken out criticizing how much some people are asking for them.

Any idea why they are asking so much for a converted Saiga?

Correct.

As for the Saiga 12, if the price ever drops down to about $400 again, I'll be all over it. As it stands, $750 and up isn't gonna happen.

besides, if the Knoxx Sidewinder kit isn't a permanenet install, and it doesn't look like it is, then my pump gun can still be used in wingshooting.

Any idea why they are asking so much for a converted Saiga?

Rumors that the ATF was going to ban their import drove prices through the roof.

At $700 you could probably buy keltec's bullpup shotty... If you can find one.
That, and after a few of my own knoxx purchases I've come to the conclusion that they're overrated.
