How about a Used P226 with a Barsto Barrel?

I had my Berreta 92FS stolen & since insurance was less than cost I replaced it with a CZ75BD & I am GLAD I did!! I love it! It shoots every bit as well, Very accurate, & eats anything I feed it (which is mostly reloads now). I did like my 92FS but the CZ is much better for the money (IMO). I also own a Ruger P95DC which is a nice Auto 9mm & does have a rail built in, But I have to say I like the CZ best of all..It would be the last full size auto I would part with...

Lots of great suggestions here. Personally, I'd go for a Glock 19.

I've never shot a CZ, but the guys that have them sure do like them a lot. You may want to take a look.

I wonder how many people practice enough to actually make a good 'accurate' assumption. I personally don't rely on someone giving me 'accurate' info without shooting several hundred rounds through a few different pistols. In my opinion if you shoot one gun enough you can become accurate with it because you've gotten use to shooting it.

You know how the Glock feels like your are shooting a brick? The Hi-Point C9 Comp is the brick! It is so top heavy that it feels weird. The C9 can really shoot! Another vote for glock 17 or 19.Simple,rugged and feeds just about anything you can feed them.
 
I can keep a quarter sized hole at 7-10 yards with my G17. It is very accurate.

I'd find a used slabside 9mm somewhere and go with that. You can't beat the 1911 frame.

The Glock 9mm you prefer. I happen to prefer their 19.
 
Best handgun I've ever fired, period, is the UltraCompact 9mm Bersa. I've never had a misfeed or misfire, and the pistol is dead-on accurate. Under $400, too.

Lots of good guns out there. I bought a new XD9SC a few years ago, new for $499. Later I bought a used CZ75B for a lot less. It was hardly used and is excellent. Don't overlook used.
 
I walked out the door this past Saturday with a brand new CZ-75B with an extra 16 round factory mag for $513.

Yesterday I took it to the range and put 115 rounds of cast bullet and JHP reloads through it. In addition to one of the factory mags, I used two older 10 round mags that I no longer remember what they were made to fit. The pistol worked flawlessly and accuracy was somewhere between target and combat but leaning toward combat. Ten rounds rapid fire at 9 yards I could cover with my hand.

You can do a lot worse than the CZ-75B.
 
A lot of great recomendations here already. My .02, buy the one that feels the best that has a warranty and reputable name.
 
Why get another 9mm auto? You need a .357 wheelgun to go with your Glock 17.
 
I just paid $400 for a brand new in the box Sig Pro SP2022, and think it is certainly the best 9mm at that price point; in fact, i'd say it is one of the better 9mm pistols at any price point.
 
The SP2022 is a great gun that is really underrated. You can get them everywhere for about $450 OTD.

My issue with them is that the DA is very long. It is smooth and breaks clean but I find myself waiting for it to fire. LOL

I own one and love it and consider it a great value but you need to know what you are getting. The SA is great.

I will again state that for the $500 range the used P228s that just came into the country are worth a look.
