Most Dependable Pistol?

I am a HUGE fan of the shotgun for HD also....I own a Winchester Defender 8100 with the pistol grip instead of the normal stock, but for something small and quick.....I want a good pistol....I'm sure everyone's pistol is reliable, if not, what's the point in owning it, right? I guess I need to go to a range where you can rent different ones and go from there to see what fits us best....

My Experience

I have used the BERETTA 92/96, SIG 229 and GLOCK. All are just as reliable. If the gun is for your wife, she may be the most familiar with the BERETTA from military use.

I think the GLOCK will be the hardest kicker so I like a BERETTA 96 for a house gun.

I suggest you go to the range, rent several different guns and let her pick the one she can shoot the best.
