Unless they're worth several thousand dollars or more and are possibly going to be damaged in some way I'd fire them. At least a few mags worth to get an idea of what they're like.
The one I described was insured by my wife's grandmother at $175,000. I am not sure why. After she passed last year, both Lugers and a Colt 1911 disappeared so my mother-in-law wouldn't sell them. I got a letter 2 weeks ago from the family attorney that they are being safely stored in a safety deposit box under a pseudonym.
