Maryland makes a great example, being right next door to W.Va. with its close ot 85% gun ownership rate, great gun laws and lowest crime rate for several years running.
We've got a state constution amendment granting a right to bear arms, shall issue CCW ($75), reciprocity, and a machine gun law that basically says "It shall be illegal to own an illegal machine gun. Other than that, knock yourself out."
Washington State is a great gun state after living and working in California for twenty years. Even though I'm an ex-Kali I didn't bring any bad Kali Karma with me when I came up. I just "blended" in.
Greg L - I'd give New York a rating of Z if I could but I don't think that was part of the scoring.
45Badger - I almost have to lump L.I. into the same swamp as NYC. I'm sure upstate is better than either of the above two, but PA is a great place. Luv Lancaster Cty.
The funny part about Md is that DMR runs a number of public outdoor ranges, and hunting is pretty big on the eastern shore ( no true rifle season though ). interesting how about 1/4 of the state gets to tell the rest of us how to live.
