for me it's Glock....I have a G26 and while it isn't too bad, I don't like the grip angle or trigger....I bought a CZ PO1 and it will replace the G26 as my main summer carry handgun..
Overpriced, in my opinion. I'd pick a CZ over a sig. Sure, the CZ may not be as smooth as a sig, but I wouldn't worry about beating the CZ up. Plus, with an extra 400 bucks in my pocket, I'll be able to put more rounds through my CZ and know where the bullet is going every time.
H&K! They make good guns but not so much better that they are worth the extra $$$.
Kimber- When they started out in Clackamus Oregon, they were marketed as an affordable 1911 with all the most popular add-ons, now their prices are rediculous.
I's have to go with the 1911. I have never had one that worked right. I love the design and it fits my hand very well. I am sure that the .45 ACP cartridge will do its job as well as anything else.
The one gap seems to be the QC with about any 1911 maker. I can plunk down $350 on a CZ (give or take) and the damn thing will work. Doing that with a 1911 has been a disappointment for me.
The most overrated design has got to be the 1911. And the most overrated maker has is easily Glock. Now having said that does anyone have a flame proof suit i can borrow?
HK, I think their pistols are very nice but they're not the only game in town like some seem to think they are. If they were $100 cheaper (and they easily could be) and XDs didn't exist I'd probably have one.
Smith and Wesson, and I say this owning 3 Smith and Wessons. I love their guns but they charge too darn much.
Overhyped, I could name lots of stuff, even my most favorite guns, because almost everything is overhyped. I've never seen a gun rag objectively criticize any gun. I think the XD pistol is overhyped and I like mine just fine.
Doubtful. The only glock owners that shoot themselves are the ones dumb enough to ignore the four rules. In which case, they would've shot themselves with any gun.
And since when does a gun shoot anybody?
Glock. It got an over abundance of publicity as the "plastic gun" when it debuted. Couple that with police depts issuing it and it's automatically a "bad" gun so people gotta have it and it's a "tactical, cop gun" so people gotta have it. yeah, they're a good gun but no beter than most others out there in my opinion.
A very close second is the XD. It's a stinkin HS2000 people! The exact same gun that nobody cared about over talked about or hardly even wanted until it said "Springfield Armory" on it. Now it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yeah right. Wonder how many that preach to "buy Amrican" clamor about these Croatian autos.
Gotta give it to the 1911, only cause it's been around a lot longer than Gaston's "Perfection"
If the 1911 is so great, why did JMB make the Hi-Power?
BTW, I own a 1911 and I am very happy with it. It is my favorite firearm. But it ain't the greatest thing ever made. Perhaps due to it's age the 1911 should be viewed as monolithic, rather than overrated.
I don't think SIGs are overrated, but they may be a tad overpriced.
I don't like Glunks myself, but lots of people do so they're clearly not overrated, just not for me.
Overrated handguns, IMO, include any 1911 with an MSRP over $1200 (especially if their names begin with W or B), New Colt SAA's, the FiveseveN, and Breakettas.
Edit: Oh, and anything shooting the .45 GAP. Like we needed a new .45 cal. *eyeroll*
