QUOTE:"I would imagine most country singers are pro-gun.."

You would imagine wrong ( think Dixie Chicks)

I'm pretty sure Raven-Symone is pro-gun. She was the little girl in The Cosby show, though she's grown up now. I saw her as a guest on the Ellen Degeneres Show (that just happened to be on as I walked by the television...) and she was saying that she liked to shoot guns.

So I looked all over the internet, but couldn't find any of those old "I'm the NRA" celebrity endorsement posters. I think Roy Rogers was in one. There were several.

Hugh Laurie, the british star of House is pro gun. I don't have the clip but there's a video posted from a recent interview on the tonight show where Leno asks him about some of his recreational activities in the US.
His (paraphrased) answer: 'well I love to take my son shooting, I don't get to do that in England.' *shock and gasp* :neener:

googled "I'm the NRA" (with quotation marks for exact phrase) and pulled this up:

Among those not yet mentioned here that I consider "household names" are Karl Malone, Tom Clancy, and Nolan Ryan.

Hugh Laurie likes to shoot? Awesome! Now I like him even more. I already liked him as an actor and a writer. (His novel "The Gun Seller" is very good--humorous, interesting, and has a nice amount of firearm use. Maybe I should have thought him a gun nut from what I read in it.)

Lou Ferrigno is a very pro-gun. His favorite is the .50 Barrett and the .416 Barrett. Very fitting for the Incredible Hulk.

Yeah, but those are mere handguns to him.

Ben Affleck, even though he supports many "liberal celebrity"causes has said he is a believer in the 2nd amned. So if figures that Jenn Garner would be too.I wonder about Matt Damon?
Joe Montegna(Criminal Minds) is a competetive handgun shooter.

I believe Gary Cole and Don Johnson are both Gunsite Grads.
Robert Deniro has a C.C.L. in NYC(or had, since Bloomberg's admin cracked down and did not renew but very few).
Peter Coyote is a gun owner and knife enthusiast.
Kieth & David Carradine are avid shooters
ret.Chicago PD / actor Dennis Farina as well.

Johnny Depp is about as anti-America as Hollyweird gets. At least he stuck to his word and moved out of the country and now lives in France (which should tell you something).

Matt Damon is another new age hypocrite. Loves being a gun-guy in his movies, but frequently gets diarreah of the mouth about them in front of reporters regarding how they should be registered licensed and only very few people should be qualified to carry them.

You have to have cajones to deny Deniro a CCW.

As for Fred Thompson.... The guy played numerous powerful parts in film and on TV. I think we can say that he won't be forgotten when he goes.

I watched the "making of" the recent Rambo film. It's hard to tell where Sly stands on guns. He seems to be fairly knowledgable about them, and seemed to go to a lot of effort for an amount of realism in the movie, but I got the impression it was to illustrate the damage guns cause, rather than to be realistic. It was a decent film, even if the first 40 minutes dragged.

that new Rambo movie stunk. And no it's not very realistic. You don't shoot someone with a sniper rifle and have them blown back 10 feet. sorry to disagree Fiero...

Notice I said "an amount". That's not to say that amount was significant. Perhaps I should have said "detail" rather than realism. At least the guns looked good.

Gee, and just how many of the folks mentioned in this thread (Selleck and Milius aside) have done anything to further the cause of RKBA?

Frankly, I scoff at the notion of a "pro-gun" celebrity, one, because it's silly how everyone in our culture is so obsessed with the whole concept of celebrity; two, because none of the "celebrities" really use their fame, with the public platform provided, to really add any productive voice to firearms causes. We hear more of the liberal blather from "stars" such as Martin Sheen, et al, in support of unpalatable political candidates, but not word one from any of these overpaid asses about the Second Amendment. Of course, we know instantly when they get pulled over for a DUI or enter rehab.

Sylvester Stallone is extremely anti-guns owned by us worker peasants. He owns firearms but wants our firearms to be confiscated.

He was on a British teevee show in which he stated that the American police should invade every home in the U.S. and confiscate our guns. He's exactly the same as Spielberg... except Spielberg has more millions of $$$ than Stallone.

Hypocrites one and all.

L.W.
