If you pick up really nasty range brass or run a wet AR, I would not add a wax based soap. If you have a liquid finishing wax add that during the rinse cycle. A rinse cycle helps either way. Thanks for the help!
Tell me more about the rinse cycle. How long? No SS pins?If you pick up really nasty range brass or run a wet AR, I would not add a wax based soap. If you have a liquid finishing wax add that during the rinse cycle. A rinse cycle helps either way.
I run my tumbler for 45 minutes, use hot water to rinse out most of the dirt and soap and put it back on for 15 more... keeps down buildup and I don't mess with the pins till the end.... if I were to want wax I'd add it during the rinse. I've used a bunch of different soap and results say whatever is in the cabinet works. Currently Palmolive is on deck.Tell me more about the rinse cycle. How long? No SS pins?

It just makes me feel like I am worth it.
when I use it, I just feel the shells don't tarnish as soon. No science in feelings...Sorry.
soap is soap from all my trials and no errors. I'll bet shampoo works!......brb....
Because they coat the brass it's more likely than not it does slow or stop oxidation. Not good enough for sizing but good for storage.View attachment 1175141----------->Carnauba!

Interesting. Personally, dawn ultra (editlatinum) is what I’ve found works best for soap…I've used a bunch of different soap and results say whatever is in the cabinet works. Currently Palmolive is on deck.
The mechanical action does the "cleaning" the soap just keeps the dirt in suspension. If it foams its good.Interesting. Personally, dawn ultra is what I’ve found works best for soap…
