I'll start by prefacing that I don't want this thread to deteriorate into a caliber war. I have several full sized service pistols that I love, and I use them for home/vehicle defense.

Okay, people, I am out of control. In the past three weeks I have purchased the following:

Sig P238
Kahr P380
Rohrbaugh 380S (should have it Friday)

I also have both a Seecamp LWS 32 & LWS 380. As you can see, I love small guns. I am fascinated by them, in fact, and there's so many good ones out there right now. While larger pistols are obviously easier to shoot, and probably more effective, I figured out a long time ago that I don't like to carry them and if I want to carry every day, a mouse gun is what it will have to be.

What I'm hoping is that some of you fine folks here at THR will so good as to tell me it's okay to spend a pretty good chunk of my discretionary income on guns, and, more importantly, that it's okay to own multiple firearms! Please validate me! :p I'm only half joking. ;)

Thanks for reading and letting me vent.

There is only one path to forgiveness for the multiple gun purchase of pistols all in the same "micro sub compact" quiver catagory.........

...a shootout review with pics. Then throw some salt over your shoulder or something.

I'm curious how they all stack up and which you'll like the best. Sometimes you have to buy one of each to find the one you really want.

I'll bet that the Kahr wins. Especially if you upgrade to Dawson sights.

OK, consider yourself validated...

I don't have any experience with the other two, but my Kahr P380 is an absolute gem. Goes in the front pocket of my jeans (deSantis holster) and I forget it's there. More accurate than me, doesn't hurt to shoot, and real sights.

And remember this valuable quote: "Most of my money has gone towards women, guns, and fun. The rest I just wasted..."

Great! I'm anxious to see how they all work out.

I like pocket pistols too and now have a P238, TCP, Micro Desert Eagle, P3AT and a Kahr PM9.

Although my LCP is not my favorite gun, it is my favorite gun to carry. It's always in my pocket, even if something bigger is in my wasteband. Carry what makes you happy!

I love my midget guns, and I use them all the time because of the dress code I have to live with.

The midget guns I have owned and carried:

- S&W .38 J Frame 642 (with CT grip)
- Kel Tec P32
- Kel Tec P3AT
- S&W Bodyguard 380

My oldest carries a Kel Tec P3AT and my middle kid carries a Bersa Thunder 380CC.

Great guns all, but check out the Bodyguard 380 if you haven't already.

See, I'm not only validating you, I'm suggesting other guns to add to your mini-gun collection.

big john1961 im the same way

i own several full size autos and revolvers, but i like my "mice" for carry.and i own SEVERAL!way i see it,if you like it buy it.i do,and it never hurts to have more than one of what you like:evil:

I learned to stop trying to justify my gun purchases years ago. Now I buy what I like, even if I don't need it at all. I like small guns too, and I have way more pocket guns than pockets. But that's ok. Variety is good!

As has been said.....You don't need our validation, just buy what YOU like.
Multiple guns? Heck, the more the merrier.
I own a lot of pocket pistols (a whole lot of them). I love pocket pistols.

NOTE: Do not leave two pocket pistols unattended in a drawer...they multiply.
.

That's O.K. ..

heck, I have more pocket guns than I have pockets to carry them at one time. I like the latest one, The Taurus TCP. It works like an old Swiss Watch with Gold Dots.

Sig P238
Kahr P380
Rohrbaugh 380S
Those things ain't Meece guns!
They are at least Rat guns.

Meece guns are my Beretta 950 .22 Short, or my .22 Short single-shot derringer, or my Baby Browning .25 ACP!

Hey zerodefect,

Will do! The Rohrbaugh will be here tomorrow and I'm itching to get the Kahr to the range. It's really grown on me in the last few days, as far as feel, trigger, compactness, ect. I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Hey RidgwayCO,

That's what I'm hoping for with my P380. I've read of some problems with the gun, but, if you really get down to it, you can find problem pistols of just about any make. Most of the stuff I read on the Kahr was overwhelmingly positive. Thanks for the reply.

Well, hell, I didn't know a Smith j-frame qualified. I got one of those too! :D Great little guns.

Mice pistols in my carry history include:

The smallest 380 ACP semi-automatic ever produced: Seecamp LWS380

The smallest 9mm semi-automatic ever produced: Rohrbaugh R9

and presently, the smallest 45 ACP semi-automatic ever produced: AMT Back Up 45.

I've always been interested in really small .45 ACP guns. The first handgun I ever bought, which I intended to pocket carry, was a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II.

GREAT gun, but nothing close to a true pocket gun. Since then, I've been on the lookout for smaller .45 ACPs and am very interested in what people think of them. So .... What do you think of your AMT, and how do you carry it?

Thanks in advance.

Dawg, I recently acquired my Back Up 45. I've only taken out to the range once, since then. It performed flawlessly and even ate 185gr SWC loads with a vengeance. Surprisingly, recoil was extremely manageable, even more so than with my G30. Accuracy was exceptional at CQB distances. Once it's commissioned as my primary CCW, it will most likely be carried AIWB. Pocket carry will be no problem in summer with cargo shorts.

Overall, It's the best bang-for-the-buck purchased I've ever made.

Here's a quick video clip showing recoil manageability during a rapid fire sequence with 230gr FMJRN..

Amazingly, the AMT Back Up 45 is just a tad longer than a Kahr PM9.

For more info on the Piece, click on the Link below. It will take you to the thread I started that's filled with a detailed review, data and a range report.

Correct.

It was disclosed in January that a R45 was definitely in the works. Still no mention on ETA, though. Not even it's dimensions have not been published. All thats known is that the R45 will maintain some of the R9 aesthetic characteristics.

I wish I had more money than sense. :D

There is certainly nothing wrong with collecting even mouse guns. Some of them, notably the Seecamp, have absolutely jewel-like craftsmanship. I would also suggest looking for a Colt 1908 "vest pocket" and a "Baby Browning" as well, although these are .25s as well as antiques.

I love my pf9, small, flat, light, put over 200 rounds through it one morning.. hand didn't hurt in the slightest bit, accurate (I only shot it at 10 to 15 yards though). It hides like a dream, and is easy on the wallet.

I will be taking a serious look at that one. I haven't had a .45 in a while, and this might be a good way to get back into the caliber.
