technically I'm not supposed to conceal because they serve alcohol there.

Try following the law. I would hate to have to give up my CC right because of people like you. Their still a lot of anti gunners in Ky and 1 is a state rep lives in Lex.

I lock up my pistol in Lexington when I going to place that serves alcohol . If you don't like the law then work to change it .

You OC into a movie theater because you're afraid there may be a shooter there.

How do they know you're not going to be the shooter?

One of the local theaters here was forced to close for a week by the county health people when they discovered that the theater had somehow gotten infested with BEDBUGS!! :what: :barf:

Shows that you can never tell what somebody that went to an earlier show might have brought in with them.
:scrutiny:

Ed,

I think you're not reading the detail of the CCW statute. Here is the actual language:

"(e) Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense beer or alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to that purpose;"

See page 9: http://www.lrc.ky.gov/Statutes/statute.aspx?id=41878

The way I read the statute is that as long as you stay out of the bar you aren't violating the law. The theater area itself is not primarily devoted to the dispensation of alcohol. It's primarily devoted to the showing of movies.

I'm not a lawyer, but I carry concealed in the Lexigton Movie Tavern and every other theater in the state I attend.

Speedo66, that kind of thinking is ridiculous. If the guy with a handgun holstered is going to shoot the place up, asking him to leave his gun behind won't change anything.

Didn't you know? Most mass shootings are spur of the moment things. Nobody plans one!!!

You missed the point entirely - the evil gun itself CAUSES the shootings. I thought everyone knew that, since it's been so widely publicised in the media....

I explained how me leaving with gun on hip and returning without, told everyone who noticed, that my gun was in car. I did my best not to be noticed, and kept an eye out for anyone noticing. I know that if gun was stolen it was on me, but I wanted to point out to the manager the sticky side of putting my gun away.

Really? You say this and yet you told the manager quite a different story, didn't you. You weren't trying to point out the sticky side of putting your gun away. You were trying to assert rights and privileges that don't exist by claiming that they do when you

...intimated that if my gun got stolen from my car it would be her fault.

Midwest - it is a prohibited place by law because they serve alcohol. What is the point of boycotting a business that would be breaking the law if they allowed customers to do the same?

If you want to legally carry in a bar, go complain to your elected officials.

Right, the Movie Tavern isn't the problem here except maybe they could have had better signage. Of course, no business lists to the public all the laws that apply to the business and to the public when in the business.
