Does any one have any double rifles, combination guns, drillings, or vierlings?

I have a savage 22 over 410. I love the old gun, but I really want to find one in a larger caliber. Also I have seen some 22lr,308, and 12 gauge drillings. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these types of guns.

Thanks

I shot a 470NE that belongs to a friend of mine. It was awesome. But sadly that is my limit when it comes to double rifles. The problem with double rifles, I know nothing about drillings, is they are not cheap. At all. A good quality double rifle can set you back tens of thousands of dollars. And no the "double rifle" that Cabelas was selling does not count.

I have a Savage 24 as well & also find drillings interesting. Some drillings can be found at decent prices used with the caveat that the shotgun barrel(s) won't be suitable for steel shot and the rifle chambering may be in an expensive/rare caliber like 9.3x62r or similar. Go to the Graybeard Outdoors forums and check out their drilling/combo gun forum, there is a guy there known as drilling man that has some really cool stuff & lots of good info there too. Someday I'll pick up a cool drilling...

I'd like a TP-82 but I doubt that'll ever happen unless I have one built and if i did, it would be 12g and .45LC I think. I also dig over/under rifle/shotgun combos as survival weapons

there are a few remington spartan .22lr, .30-06, and .45-70 doubles floating around.

ive got a 12 gauge sxs but thats it

I have two of the Savage Model 24's.

A .223 over 12/g
and
A 30-30 over 12/g

I'm in the process of getting them both cleaned up, etc.
Both function properly, but I need to see where they are actually going to hit / pattern......

I think they have a certain cool factor. I've always wanted a combo setup, and I stumbled into these two a while back. They aren't beautiful, but I'm looking forward to putting them in the field.

Dredd-

Had 2 different 223/12 24's- both would pop open with mil 223 ammo. Didn't know at the time, but the recommended cure is to have the leade modified to milspec dimensions.

Only downside to the 12ga versions is the weight, and for some reason the stock design seems to accentuate the recoil. Half a box of slugs is all I want at the bench!

I shoot a Tikka 412 double in 9.3X74R, great rifle and the ability to regulate the barrels to the load you are shooting is a huge plus. These are also a very affordable double rifle.
