I have a real hard time bringing myself to pay more than $600 for *any* handgun or $1300 for *any* rifle. No shotgun is worth more than $400 to me as I'm buying function not "art". YMMV.
I totally agree. Even if I were rolling in money, I'd have a hard time with that. Maybe for kicks if I were rich I'd buy myself a .50 BMG Barrett, but that's about all I can fathom that I would drop that much cash on (and that would be after every other gun I want was purchased and I was using $100 bills as toilet paper).
You'd be just about set for life with an SKS and Mossy by your side. Plus, you gotta buy ammo -- and lots of it.
True enough. I'm opting for a Mossberg 500, WASR-10, and CZ 75BD, but the basic point holds true. Not too much money for some high quality firearms that will last your lifetime, and save the rest for a boat load of ammo.
