I just went to 2 of the local Academy sporting good stores, Gander Mountain and Walmart and a local gun shop. Just a few boxes of 12 gauge bird shot and some .410 and .45 long colt. This is crazy.....
Don't worry, I called Sportsman's Warehouse today and was told that they have "no powder whatsoever" at the moment. Bass Pro told my buddy that they have "no .30 caliber bullets of any brand".
I got lucky today. I found some Federal 5.56 at $7.99/20rds. Which is pre-panic price if I remember correctly. They didnt have much left but they also had some Independence .223 for 10.99.
I just went through my old receipts, and my last by of a case was $.37/round shipped to my door. Considering the times, I'd say you found a pretty decent deal.
This makes absolutely no sense in TX. No federal move to ban or exhorbitantly tax ammunition, and I doubt TX will try to outdo the feds, as will some northeastern states.
Leave some for the folks in NY, who really need it!
