HiPoint firearms lack features, capacity, build quality, etc.

Most important, they lack good metallurgy.

I had one, i gave it an honest to god shot since im a fan of "bang for the buck" guns like the p95, sig 2022, sigma... but the one i had was an absolute piece of scrap. I gave it to a friend who didn't have the money to get into shooting. He still has it but i think giving it to him turned him off of the shooting sports because he got frustrated with it.

cheap and more reliable (at least from what we read on the net) than a Kimber.
Even if they aren't, you can buy 6 for the same price, and if you have a misfire, throw it down and grab another. Of course, you might pass out under all of the weight of them.

I always like these threads.

Personally, don't care if you choose to buy a chest full of Jennings J-22's or a safe full of Freedom Arms. I like to see 'em.

Thanks for the pics.

People always bash how ugly Hi Points are... well that just makes you a real good photographer

I almost bought a J-22 today, for $10.
It was on Gunbroker, opening bid of $.01 and it happened to be a local store. I went down to ask the guy if I could just buy it there. He said if it didn't have any bids, I could have it for $10. There was a bid on it.

Regardless of the cost of your collection, its important to you and thereby to be proud of! Enjoy!

If it's what ya got and they'er what you can afford, and they work for you who is anyone else to tell you different. There have been times, and weve all been there when the money just wasnt there to buy the cadillac, and choose a Ugo instead because it what we could afford. More power to you, my friend I hope they serve you well for many years to come.

I think some of you would complain about a HP even if we could turn every Anti into a gun owner with one.

To the OP, Nice collection of guns. Any of which has a proven track record of being just as reliable as any other gun on the market. Only with a better warranty!

Too bad they are large and heavy as i could always use another ccw.

I always double-take at Hi-Points, just to make sure they aren't HK USPs.

To me, they really look similar at a glance.

I never have that problem, Its an easy remedy.
If you cant tell at first glance whether its a HP or HK look at the price tag and if it starts with a 1 its a HP, If it starts with an 8 or 9 its an HK.
Pretty soon it will be even easier as it will start having 4 digit price tags which may fool you with a 1 being the first number again, But count the zero's and you will be fine.

Plus you can also tell by the people.
There is usually a few people standing in front of the HK case, And no one stands in front of the HP case. To buy one you have to stand 2 counters down and tell the salesman to bring one over to you as you wouldn't be caught dead standing in front of that case when people are watching.

Ditto...not my taste but I've heard nothing but good about HP on here and even from people that actually shoot them. HA

I had a highpoint carbine for a while and loved it ive shot a few of their handguns and was not impressed with fit/finish but hey....better than throwing a rock!

6" at 25 yrds ? there's your problem with accuracy, you are supposed to point the gun at the target and fire, not throw the gun at the target and hope!:)
