It's a Match Champion III that has had a few tweaks. I switched cylinders with an unfluted one that came from a 6" limited edition. Added a Dawson 1/10" wide front sight and a Bowen adjustable rear. Nice comfy Super Redhawk grip as well. Cleaned up the internals and reduced the spring weights slightly. Certainly nothing fancy or custom but I think it's the way I want it. For now.

Looks better than factory. Are you a big double action shooter.

Not a big double action shooter at all. Mostly a single action guy but it's nice to have the double action if needed. Things I love about this is the unfluted cylinder and no warning label visible.

It is very nice. I bet it’d look extra great with the cylinder polished bright. For some reason a polished cylinder always looked good to me.

Makes my favorite 5 inch look like an old maid.
If you need a new activity practice speed loaders along with double action practice. Teaches you how to choose bullet shapes wisely.

That... is a very nice looking revolver. I'm not much of a revolver guy, but I love the way the GP100 looks. It's even better with an unfluted cylinder!

The grip is the only thing I'd change. I like the way the Ruger SP101 rubber and wood grips look.

Anyway... congrats on getting it to your liking!

I like the way those have a slab sided barrel. She should be pretty slick. How does it shoot now? My 5" blued 357 half lug is my most accurate handgun but had to put shims in to get the DA more useable.

In all honesty it's no more or less accurate than my other two GP 100's or than the other three or four I've owned over the years. The one I've preferred balance wise was a 5" stainless that a friend of mine refuses to sell back to me. The "Match Champion" lettering could go and it wouldn't bother me but it keeps that annoying warning to "Read Instruction Manual" on the bottom of the barrel. The Match Champions have a shimmed action but I think that's as far as it went since the innards are exactly the same.

I can understand all of that, but

that sort of stuff does not make sense to me. I read about parts swapping and replacement routinely, so it must make sense to somebody. Seems the P365 automatic is a real lego gun.

I simply wanted a 4" with unfluted cylinder and they don't make one so If I wanted it I had to do it myself.

Love it CheifTJS! I have one of the same model that is unchanged from the factory and it has the nicest trigger pull of any GP I’ve pulled. Say, was the cylinder swap and direct drop in, or is some gunsmithing required?
Thanks
