Some of you may remember a thread I began just a couple of weeks ago where I complained of my Kahr E9 not feeding JHP ammo. The advice I received instructed me to contact Kahr Arms and give them an opportunity to repair the problem.
Well I just got the piece back today via overnight Fed-Ex, and I immediately disassembled the firearm to see what had been done. The invoice stated the recoil spring was too weak and the feed ramp was polished. I can hardly contain myself!!! The difference in the feed ramp is amazing. Prior to returning the gun, the feed ramp was blackened like the rest of the barrel, but had copper deposits on it left from JHP ammo jackets. The ramp is not only polished smooth, but appears to have a significantly reduced angle. I have been able to cycle through (by hand) 2 magazines of JHP without a hitch, which I havent been able to do until now. The spring was stiff before, but now reassembling the gun after a thourough cleaning is now a chore.
The work seems first rate, and I cannot wait to get this hot lottle number onto the range to test the reliability. I will let you guys know how things turn out with a range report in the next few weeks.
Thanks to all for the wise counsel! Much appreciated!
God Bless!
