Name The One Handgun In YOUR Collection That You Consider Your Most Prized Possession

For me, it's a very early post-WWII S&W .357. N-frame, Patridge sight, Magna grips, blue box, blue sight adjustment screwdriver, long bore mop, and bluing that looks a mile deep . . . workmanship makes anything that came out of Springfield in the last 30 years look like the product of a sweat shop in Bangalore or Suzhou by comparison.

Most importantly, I inherited it from my Dad . . .

I have a S+W .38 Safety Hammerless 5 shot revolver Model 4, it was called a Lemon Squeezer. My Dad gave it to me before he died and I was told by S+W that it's about 100 years old. It's not worth much because they made so many of them, but it's worth the world to me. Mike

You did say handgun. The only sentimental favorite I have is a long gun.

I would choose my 1990 SIG P228 for two reasons. First, it has never let me down, never given even a hint of unreliability. Second, it goes practically everywhere with me, so I have grown rather fond of it.

It's not tactical, but this .22 Ruger Single-Six has gone on a lot of hikes.
Despite having many other choices, this one gets to the range most of the time.
I don't know what size groups it will fire but it raises heck with pop cans.

Colt this and S&W that. Blah Blah Blah. (yes I am young, dumb, and most importantly, broke) Thanks a lot for all of the nice pics guys. Very nice guns ya'll got there.

I'll definitely be the only one to say this............wait for it............... Jennings J-22. :what:

Don't start flaming just yet, keep reading. He said favorite, not most reliable. It was a gift from my grandfather (mom's dad) to my father right before my grandfather died. That was enough to secure it's place as my favorite handgun as it was the only handgun my grandfather had. Then about 8 months ago my "lost it" due to too much PTSD medication (Vietnam). Long story short, my dad and I both almost died that night. Luckily for me everyone made it out okay (barely) and I've had the Jennings ever since (along with all of his other guns BTW). I have almost got it running right (believe it or not I don't care). I can usually get off a whole mag with no issues. It isn't the most combat worthy weapon (yet, I'm still working on it) but I will never get rid of it. I don't think even a gun that saved my life would be more important to me.

Sorry for the overly personal post but I had to explain why or no one would believe me.
Here's a crappy rushed pic taken at 6 this morning.

I have three actually

My safe queen (yes, I have only one safe queen) is my Grendel P-10. It is the first gun I ever owned. It is first generation all steel (accept the polymer frame) and has served me well in its carry life. It was even stolen and recovered. It loved me as much as I love it because the scumbag that bought it from the thief was a minor whot shot himself in the leg with it on the 4th of July and it came home after the police kept it safe for two days. Over one thousands rounds and a yearly function test shoot and my baby is just that... my baby. I've had it longer than I've had my precious children.

Second is my CCW Taurus M605 in blue. A superb revolver that is awesome from bottom to top in fit, finish, price and especially performance.

Third is my most expensive banger. My Para Warthog astounds me every time I hold it and especially when I shoot it. The technology that it took to make this little powerhouse exist still makes me proud of human progress and that is next to impossible to do in my jaded mind.

I know you said to name one favorite, but those three are my favorites and all that I feel I will ever need and that is why they are my favorites. However, that hasn't stopped me from buying more guns that tickle my fancy.

Most prized

That has to be what was my Grandfathers Colt Bisley .45...circa 1917. I just wish my Dad hadn't engraved his drivers license number on top of the barrell.

Favorite shooter - FNP9

I Believe you.. really! I have two of em and I hardly ever have an issue with them not working well. My first I gave to my brother and I bought a replacement. My brother gave it back to me because he moved somewhere that was not pistol friendly... With the ammo they like the j-22's or at least mine are fine.

My favorite pistol? hmmm hard but likely my series 70 electroless nikle, ambedextrious safety - custom shop .45 Gold cup

well that or my colt python 5 inch blue- my first "real gun" toss a coin maybe?

My most favorite gun is an older new model Vaqero. Beautiful, balanced. A natural shooter for me. I've got a few others to include a lot of the "to have" models, but the Vaquero is my favorite.

Favorite and most beautiful is my 1903 .32 cal. Colt pocket model. Feels better in my hand than any other. 2nd is my BHP M3.

Got a hold of a M29 3" Lew Horton special about 25 years ago. I use to carry it deer hunting as backup sidearm. I always throw it in my pack when I am planning to be camping in bear country.

It has always been very accurate and a good deal of fun to shoot.

my nickel finish desert eagle in .50AE (reason) this is the first thing i actualy saved up for in my entire life im only 21 but it took a entire year to save for this while still paying for school, a car, and a place to live. unfourtinulity the gun broke after the first round i fired in it jammed in the barrell and somehow puffed it up. BUT it will stay in the safe as a reminder to myself of good times to come.

and no i didnt buy this cause it was a DE and i wanted to be "cool"

My wife and children and grand children are my "most prized possession" I can replace most if not ALL of my collection. I do have a couple of "safe queens" but nothing I have is irreplaceable, except my family.

Nickel S&W Model 19-3 with 2.5" barrel and Smith Combat grips. It feels like it was designed to fit my hand.

S&W model 66 no dash, pinned and recessed, four inch barrel. It will knock over silhouette plates at 100 metres, fits my hand perfectly, looks great and just 'feels' like a proper firearm to me. Every man should own at least one K frame. Ladies should too. My Glock, Beretta & Bul M5 1911 get more use, but I get pride of ownership from the Smith.

The old Remington .22LR my Dad bought for me in 1958 . . . my first gun & from a Great Man. That gift started the journey and the passion . . .

Some nice guns and choices folks.

I don't have a "most prized" possession gun. Some are safe queens, others shooters.

My most trusted are the G17's and the recent CZ PCR. I'm carrying one or the other 99% of the time for SD purposes.

I am particularly fond of my M1A's, here:

My S&W 327 TRR8. Cost me a friggin' fortune, but accurate as hell. Not getting rid of it anytime soon, either.

I am posting a pic of my 44 Magnum with the Eagle grips. It came with rubber Pachmayrs :uhoh: which are comfortable but look :barf:
