Speaking of S&W's, my model 65 that I picked up for $169 is probably my best find.

Back in the days when police departments were dumping revolvers in favor of wonder-nines, nice S&W's were pretty common. The dealer I bought mine from said he'd sold over 300 in one weekend at a gun show in Dallas.

I only got one; wish I'd bought three or four, even though money was tight. Would've been a great investment.

The best gun deal I've came across was a Polish P64 Makarov. It's bluing rivals that of 1960's colts ive seen and I can drive nails with it at 7 yards. Swapped springs around was all i had to do to it. $165 for it, cleaning kit, holster and two magazines.

About 15 years ago, I bought my CZ-75BD for, IIRC, less than $200.00 new. CZs were the best value in guns at that time. They still make great stuff but they ain't cheap. If you can find them, I'd say the police tradein Glocks, S.I.G.s, and S&Ws are probably good deals. Colt 1911s would probably be a lot cheaper now if our government hadn't had the surplus scrapped when the military converted to 9mm.

I love revolvers, and own 4 S&W's, including a sweet low, low round 64 I got for $300.

However, day in and day out - as many in this thread have noted - those former Soviet block pistols designed and built for military service, are hard to beat. I have a CZ82 and an AN-9 (PA-63 in .380) and I am looking for a deal on a Real Mak or P-64.

BTW, Wolff makes all the springs you need for these guns, fixes trigger pulls and extreme ejection/ worn out slide spring/ muzzle flip.

What is your favorite bargain price handgun?

It would be my Bersa Thunder 380, pre-lock.
I got it for $100, and it's been a never fail pistol for me.
It's awefully hard to beat a pistol that works every time, and at $100 it's a no brainer.

I got you beat: I got my Ruger Mark I for $78 brand new in 1972, by myself. Still have it, and after 20,000+ rounds, good as new. Just old, I guess.

That is $430 adjusted for inflation. Not trying to put down your post just wanted to show how the Mark series Rugers have basically always cost the same

Has to be my Bulgarian Makarov for $200 and my KelTec PF9. Both are pretty accurate for what they are. Also for a fun range gun I really like my HiPoint JCP in .40S&W, accurate and eats whatever I feed it.

Used Marlin model 60 for $80.00 came with a sling and BSA scope. Doesn't owe me a dime.

If we are talking personal bargains either my steyr M9 or my G17 both of which were $250 or less. If we are talking the normal going rate for guns I'd say the CZ82. I'm not sure the very latest but not long ago they were sub $200. They are a heck of a lot of gun for that price.

I'll lead with a used Sig 2022 at $329
I know new has been listed for $349 and at that price is a great bargain.

And I'll Follow with Bersa Thunder with CT grips for $299

And wrap up with used S&W 5906 for $249, used S&W 10 for $229, and a used S&W 64 $239

Bargain SIG

To me, one of the best bargains is the Sig P6. These sold a few years ago for around $300 with 2 mags. (When my son bought me this one; thanks buddy!)

They can still be found for $350-400 but the prices are climbing.

Kel-tec PF9 (Parkerized) $209, P11 (Hard Chrome) $ 202, and my favorite, Rossi 462 $299. I trust my life to each one of them on a regular basis.

I've actually got a few faves.

Kel Tec P11

Taurus M85SSUL

Rossi M511 Sportsman (.22LR)

Taurus M66, two, but both used

Is a Ruger KP90DC considered a bargain? I bought it 20 years ago and the way it performs, yes, a bargain regardless.

Scoped Ruger Mk2 used for $275. Thought that a pretty decent deal. Was going to sell the scope, but after shooting, it became my new squirrel gun. :D

Rossi 3" M68 is a very well made, very good shooting gun I bought in 1981 to give to my step father, got it back when he passed away.

I guess, those are my absolute faves that I'd consider bargains. I don't have a really expensive gun, though, a M10 Smith I inherited, a couple of Ruger blackhawks, a several cap and ball guns including a Ruger Old Army that sells for more now than it did new when I got mine by a considerable amount. Contender with 4 barrels, not cheap. etc, etc. I do have some what I consider JUNK.... laughing-smiley-011.gif

Although I will throw my single stack Russian Makarov in this mix, I must admit to my most prized pistol being my double stack Russian Makarov. :D

Oh yeah, I must also include my CZ 75 Cold War Commemorative. What can I say, I love Comm Bloc firearms. ;)

S&W model 10. Just picked up one 2 weeks ago in excellent condition from my LGS for $222 + tax.

My Smith mod. 66 K frame, round butt,"Combat" model . Bought new for $175 about 20 years ago, and has been my most faithful companion since. I know for a fact it's slept with me more than my ex did :_)
