I picked up 3 boxes of some ammo today to test out and I can't ID it. (Maybe I am just not on the up and up with import stuff.) A google search did me no good.

The box is plain brown cardboard. The only markings on it are just like this:

I.M.G
Fabrics de Municione
del Ejercito
30 Cartuchos
CAL. 5.56 mm
Lote 03

What is this?? It shoots good, brass cased, green sealed primer, case markedIMG 5.56, and is nearly as cheap as Wolf (locally).

orvpark, have you noticed whether or not the case neck splits after firing?

I was given some IMG cases a while back and almost every one had a split neck after firing. I didn't load them too hot ... 24 grains of RE15 with a 77gr bullet and WSR primers.

Just curious ....

:)

The Guat 5.56 was decent enough ammo. I bought a bunch of it a few years ago. It shot OK and the brass was good for at least 4 reloads. It wasn't the prettiest brass by a long shot, but it had good tight primer pockets and the necks didn't split.

I got a good deal on it because I don't think the woman working at the gun store realized there were 30 rounds/box. It wasn't marked so she gave it to me at the same price as Wolf. The store's prices were always high for everything so I didn't mind getting a perhaps unintentional deal.
